From the meeting it appears that a convergence of the different platforms opens new scenarios for content producers as well as for broadcasters and new entrants in the market. In order to maximise the potentials of this sector, participants focused their attention on a few priorities. First of all, technological neutrality which is a must for the future. Experts believe that new policies by strategies implemented by producers and broadcasters, as well as policies against illegal distribution, may lead to a possible market expansion without necessarily causing a “cannibalization” between sectors. Regulations are another important aspect of the system which – if applied with elasticity – should favor development and creativity. Finally, particular attention will be dedicated to the market as its economic value will outdo the value of advertising revenue and will therefore force enterprises to satisfy market expectations and trends.
