Friends of Aspen benefit from a dedicated program with ad hoc events, where they engage in discussions, behind closed doors, with the Institute’s members as well as with outside figures from the institutional, economic, financial and academic worlds.
The themes of these events are chosen on the basis of guidelines issued by the Advisory Board, whose members put forward interests voiced by the group. The aim is to tailor program content to the concrete needs of people operating in the business world. The Friends of Aspen Community regularly debates such strategic issues as:
• the goal of carbon neutrality: from awareness to action;
• challenges and synergies in the dual green and digital transition;
• competing for talent;
• the start-up ecosystem and strategies for facilitating innovation, competitiveness and growth;
• proposals for strengthening and speeding up the implementation of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The Community’s Annual Conference and Meeting, in addition to workshops focusing on more specific issues, are frequently held at venues placed at its disposal by a member of the group.
The cyclical nature of the meetings, together with the possibility of conducting subsequent in-depth exploration of certain issues, enables the Community to track developments. The Friends of Aspen explore the way in which values, rules, ethos and leadership drive a business, how all those factors change over time, and the ability of Italian businesses to operate in a constantly changing environment.
