Is it still possible to do business in Italy?

The Friends of Aspen gathered for the first time since 2007 at the Teatro Studio Expo, as guests of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano (aka the Teatro d’Europa), for the fourteenth spring meeting of the group. After the group’s latest members were introduced and a brief rundown was given of the group’s activities, members were asked to suggest topics to be addressed at the next annual conference in November.

Back to a nuclear future: fourth generation

The 11th annual spring meeting of the Friends of Aspen, held in Milan at the Palazzo Trussardi alla Scala, was attended by members of the group as well as leaders and members of the Institute. The meeting centered around a debate on the issue of nuclear power in Italy, whilst at the same time offering an opportunity to introduce new members of the group, elicit suggestions for topics for future events and announce the group’s upcoming annual conference (the 14th in the series) to take place in the fall.

The meeting of the Friends of Aspen, held in conjunction with a debate on a specific topic, offered an opportunity to introduce the new members of the group, elicit suggestions for topics for future events and announce the group’s upcoming annual conference (the 13th in the series) to take place in Rome on October 21. This 10th meeting of the Friends of Aspen was held in Milan at the Teatro alla Scala, in the evocative setting of the Ridotto dei Palchi (or Box Foyer), thanks to the generous support of the Fondazione del Teatro alla Scala.

Ninth Friends of Aspen Meeting: The culture economy: the art of learning

The ninth Friends of Aspen meeting was held in Milan’s evocative Teatro Studio of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano. Participants debated present relations between the world of culture and that of business and finance. The meeting also offered a chance to introduce the group’s new members and to illustrate present and future activities. In particular, an announcement was made of the group’s upcoming yearly conference – the twelfth – to be held at Teatro Reggio in Parma at the end of November.

Italians abroad: a case study on Italian Genius

The annual Spring Meeting of the Friends of Aspen was held in Palazzo Bocconi, a historical palace which was used, on this occasion, to discuss a topic of current interest: Italians abroad: a case study on Italian genius. As usual, the meeting was also an occasion to discuss possible topics for the annual conference to be held in the Fall and to introduce new associates. The meeting focused on a community of Italians – from the experience of an online forum – which includes men and women who want to give a contribution and wish to be involved in Italy’s doings, albeit from abroad.

The role of Italy’s culture in globalization

The spring meeting of the Friends of Aspen was held in the Milan theater “Il Piccolo di Milano – Teatro Strehler” this year. The prestige of the location suited the high level of cultural debate: The role of Italy’s culture in globalization. As usual during this annual meeting, new members were presented to the group. Participants also discussed a series of issues from which to choose the topic of the annual conference, to be held in November this year.
