        The Energy Transition and Its Impact on the Economic and Geopolitical System

         

        Rome, 9 July 2021 – Aspen Institute Italia, in partnership with CESI, will be holding an Aspenia Talk on “Energy in the post-COVID transition between geopolitics and growth” in digital mode.

        The meeting will be held on the Zoom platform and is part of the ASPENIA TALKS series. Speakers at the meeting will include: Vincenzo Amendola, Under Secretary for European Affairs, Presidency of the Council of Ministers; Giulio Tremonti, Chairman, Aspen Institute Italia; David Livingston, Senior Advisor on Climate, US Department of State; Matteo Codazzi, Managing Director, CESI; Marco Alverà, Managing Director, Snam; Laura Cozzi, Head of Energy Modeling Unit, IEA; Francesco La Camera, Director General, IRENA; John C. Hulsman, President and Co-Founder, John C. Hulsman Enterprises.

        The debate will focus on the energy transition and its impact on the international economic and geopolitical system. Market reaction and on businesses’ strategies to ensure they reap the benefits of a transition process heavily backed both by European governments and by the US Governmen. An opportunity for growth and, at the same time, a reflection on the change of course impressed on Europe’s economic policy in terms of the energy transition toward a green economy and a greater focus on the struggle against climate change, with particular attention being paid to the funds earmarked in the Recovery Fund. A special focus will also be devoted to the Biden Administration’s strategic choices.
