        Investing in Italy: New Prospects and Old Stumbling Blocks

        Rome, 19 November 2021 – Aspen Institute Italia, in partnership with British American Tobacco Italia, will be holding an Aspenia Talk on “The future of foreign investments in Italy and in Europe” in digital mode  at 18:00 on 23 November.

        The meeting will be held on the Zoom platform and is part of the ASPENIA TALKS series. Speakers at the meeting will include: Giulio Tremonti, Chairman, Aspen Institute Italia; Roberta Palazzetti, President and Managing Director, British American Tobacco Italia; Giuseppe Notarnicola, President, STMicroelectronics, Vice-President, Assolombarda with the investment attraction portfolio; Daniel Gros, Director, CEPS – Centre for European Policy Studies; Silvia Merler, Head of ESG and Policy Research, Algebris Investments LLP ; Fabio Pammolli, Professor of Economics, Finance and Data Science Professor of Economics, Finance and Data Science, Politecnico di Milano, Member, Investment Committee – Invest EU, European Commission Member.

        The debate will focus on the action required to attract greater industrial investment to Italy, considering the legislative, bureaucratic and territorial stumbling blocks involved while also presenting interesting case histories of recent successful projects. The debate will also be taking a look at the broader situation in Europe, exploring the trend in non-European businesses’ renewed interest in coming to and investing in the region as it starts to recover from the pandemic.
