The number of studies by Italian researchers published by the scientific press increased considerably this month. Forty-five articles were published, with – as usual – the traditional prevalence of oncological studies. Thirteen studies were published in this field, conducted by 13 researchers in 39 centers. Most of the studies were published by the Nature group – Leukemia, OncogeneCell Death and Disease, but there were also articles in Lancet and Lancet Oncology.

In chemistry, Information published an article by Edoardo Magnone – a member of Aspen Institute Italia’s Italian Talent Abroad and a chemist who has studied new energy sources both in Tokyo and now in Seul – on energy studies coming out of China, Japan and Korea (available here).

Finally, the Aspen Institute Italia site for its round table on Biotechnologies and Life Sciences in Italy interviewed Stefano Bertuzzi (“Biotech as a key to Italy’s recovery”). Bertuzzi is the new director of the American Society for Cell Biology and spoke of the prospect of biotech and strategies to make the sector competitive in Italy.
