    Investing in Italy – The foreign press continued to report on developments in economic groups, in particularly foreign investments in Italy. There was special emphasis on the news of the approval by European authorities of Ethiad’s participation in Alitalia capital, an agreement that will give greater opportunities for from and for Italy to business travelers and tourists. (Financial Times, November 14 – Etihad move on Alitalia cleared for take-off*; Wall Street Journal, November 14 – EU Approves Etihad’s 49% Stake in Alitalia;Valor Economico, November 17 – Alitalia e Etihad recebem sinal verde para seguir com a fusão). In addition, there was interest in the listing of RayWay, the TV transmission tower that is shining on the Milan stock exchange on its first day of trading (November 19 su Reuters– Italy’s Rai Way shines on debut, bucking adverse IPO landscapeLes Echos – Rai Way en forte hausse à Milan pour sa première cotation)

    Investment opportunities can go well beyond stock shares. The Financial Times explained that, while there is increasing interest in Italian wines worldwide, there are also increasing funds being invested in high quality Italian production, a choice of good taste (November 15 – Wine funds look to Italy for tasty returns).

    Art, cinema, music – There were also numerous mentions of Italian culture, first of all painting, with Titian’s “Poesie” showing at Madrid’s Prado Museum (El Mundo,November 19 – El Prado muestra las primeras ‘poesías’ de TizianoEl Pais, November 18 –El Museo del Prado cierra el ciclo de las ‘Poesías’ mitológicas de Tiziano) and the exhibition in Monaco of the Veneto urban landscape painter Bernardo Bellotto (Les Echos, November 17 – Les périples peints de Bernardo Bellotto).

    The international papers also spoke about cinema with the rebirth of Cinecittà, being used for new Hollywood production (Les Echos, November 17 – Les studios de Cinecittà tentent de renouer avec le filon des superproductions hollywoodiennes) and with the arrival at the European Festival of Cinema of Seville of “Le Mervaglie”, a film by the Italian Alice Rohrwacher (El Pais, November 14 – El vuelo de una abeja). Finally, there was space for music with the Times interviewing italian singer and songwriter Vinicio Capossela (The Times, November 14 – Vinicio Capossela: ‘The principles of anarchy are very relevant’*).

    Italian style worldwide – Last but not least, there were reports on Italian design. The Sunday Times remembered Schiaparelli, reviewed on a biography of the Italian (November 16 – Elsa Schiaparelli: A Biography by Meryle Secrest), and the Brazilian Valor Economic discovered Italia Independent, a new brand of Italian appeal ” (November 18 – Uma nova marca com charme e design italianos*).Style also determined the success of the Fiat 500 on the Spanish market, as the group’s Madrid director, Luca Napolitano explained to El Pais (November 14 – “La familia del Fiat 500 nos ha dado un gran impulso en España”).

    As for lifestyles, Die Zeit sang the praises of Venice (November 14 Venedig ist überall), and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung went to Fano, a small corner for vacationing families (14 – Der schönste Schutzengel des Universums).
