    Investments in Italy – International investors – and the foreign press – are still focusing on Italy. They wrote about the ongoing success of the sale of Italian bonds (Bloomberg Businessweek, (July 8 – Italian Bonds Sell Off as German Bunds Rally Amid EU Reform Spat), and investment funds that, according to data from the European Association of Private Equity, are showing interest in Southern European, including Italy (El Mundo, (July 7 – El sur de Europa, a la cola como destino de los fondos de inversión).

    Italy was also chosen as destination market by investors in industry. This, for example, is the case of Telefonica, which is investing 100 million euro to buy 11% of Mediaset Premiun (July 7 suEl Mundo – Telefónica compra un 11% de la televisión de pago de Mediaset en Italia; Expansion – Telefónica compra un 11% de la televisión de pago de Mediaset por 100 millonesValor Economico –Telefónica paga 100 milhões de euros para ter 11% de TV paga italiana*). It is also the case of the Spanish Audez Energia, which has invested in its own growth on the Italian market (Expansion, (July 8 – Audax Energía desembarca en Italia con la compra de Big Energia).

    There have been similar signals of trust from National operators. Reuters reported that the eco-friendly leather firm Favini is planning an IPO on the Milan stock Exchange, with plans for international growth in the luxury market ((July 4 – Eco-leather maker Favini files for Italy listing), and the general director of the Italian Bankers Association, Giovanni Sabatini, interviews by Bloomberg, gave assurances on the solidity of Italian banks in the face of European stress tests ((July 4 –Italy Banks Seen Able to Fill Potential Capital Gap).

    The dream of car manufacturers – Last week the foreign press also ran articles on the automotive industry. The Wall Street Journal wrote about the coming listing of Fiat-Chrysler stocks ((July 4 – Fiat Chrysler To List 750.5 Million Shares on the NYSE*) and the new models of the Cavallino Rampante, with a review of LaFerrari, a million dollar dream ((July 4 –LaFerrari Is a Million-Dollar Dream). And, reported the American paper, the Maranello- based carmaker is also organizing driving lessons in the Fioano racetrack for those who can afford the cars ((July 4 – Learning to Drive a Ferrari).

    Culture, tourism and life & style – There were also articles on culture, tourism and life & style. Bloomberg announced the commemoration of the hundred anniversary of the beginning of World War I with a Requiem directed by Riccardo Muti ((July 6 – Muti conducts ‘Requiem’ for WWI 100th anniversary). And The Times suggested a class excursion to Sorrento with breathtaking views and incredible food ((July 5 – Gateway to Italy: Sorrento). Finally El Mundo published an interview with Lapo Elkann about the latest collection of glasses by Italia Independent presented in Paris ((July 7 – Lapo Elkann: ‘Para mí no hay nada imposible’).
