    Automotive – The articles dedicated to Italy by the foreign press include coverage of the automotive sector.     Fashion – International newspapers also include articles devoted to fashion: The New York Times covers the new professional adventure of designer Alessandra Facchinetti who, after Gucci, Tod’s, and Valentino, will now oversee the brand Harlan + Holden (January 24 – Alessandra Facchinetti’s Next Act*); Reuters, on the other hand, recounts how new store openings abroad have “lifted sales at Calzedonia,” which “keeps focusing on its foreign expansion” (January 27 – New shops abroad push 2019 sales at Italy’s Calzedonia*).

    Tourism and wine & food – Tourism is also covered, offering travellers alternatives to the famed Rio Carnival: the Spanish daily Expansión visits Viareggio, “famed for having the world’s best floats” (January 25 – Los otros carnavales que no son Río de Janeiro). Der Standard, on the other hand, focuses on wine and food traditions, with Pellegrino Artusi’s recipe for “pollo alla Marengo,” a favourite of Napoleon’s (January 28 – Pollo alla Marengo nach dem Rezept von Pellegrino Artusi); lastly, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reinterprets the traditional recipe for Italian pizza with rosemary (January 23 – Pizza à la mama).
