Local economic dynamism, second edition
One year on from the first installment, part two of this study of Italian local economic dynamism presents some interesting variations to the previous findings, particularly as regards Italy’s provinces, with an analysis of certain indicators of economic capacity (population, employment and productivity) revealing several changes in the earlier rankings. Highly remarkable is the case of Como, which moves up from ninth to fourth position.

More attention is focused on scientific studies by Italian teams: 28 articles are included in the findings this month. Genetics, oncology, neurology and hematology are the most covered areas.

Space was given to studies on oncology also during this period: 9 articles were published by Nature and The Lancet. The Italian research, which is the subject of the monitoring, also includes studies on nutrition and virology.

Many studies were published in particular by Nature, which made room for 14 studies by Italian teams concentrating mostly on oncology and general medicine. The Lancet published articles on cardiology and pneumology among other topics.
