Monitoring period from June 1 – 30, 2016

    Some 41 articles were published by Italian researchers and laboratories in the June editions of international scientific journals (Science, Lancet and those owned by the Nature group) and those dealing with oncology and neurosciences were the most prolific.

    Five, published in the  British Journal of Cancer and Leukemia, dealt with cancer research and  three featuring neuro-scientific studies appeared in publications such as Neuropsychopharmacology.

    The week of June 24 – 30

      Economy – As Brexit and its consequences continue to create more than a few ripples in the European economy, the focus of the international media has been, somewhat inevitably, on London rather than other capital cities across the Old Continent.                             Corporate stories like Ferrero, as it continues its growth abroad, or Buccellati, which makes jewellery in accordance with traditions that “haven’t changed since the Renaissance.” Personal stories, like that of online fashion geek Federico Marchetti, who made Yoox the “worldwide Amazon of luxury.” Stories of artistic innovation, like the multimedia journey into Caravaggio’s work, which attracted the Spanish press to Rome’s Palazzo delle Esposizioni.

                                The work of Italian researchers and laboratories that appeared in international scientific journals during the course of January dealt mainly with efforts in the fields of biology and oncology. Monitoring of the scientific press (including titles such as Science, The Lancet, and the various journals of the Nature group) revealed 45 studies conducted by Italian laboratories were published during this period.
