In September, oncology and physics recorded the greatest number of publications by Italian laboratories, with 25 articles involving 56 research centres.
Monitoring of the leading international scientific journals (Science, Nature, PNAS-Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, National Science Review, and Scientific Reports, placed by SCImago Journal Rank in the top 5 for scientific impact) yielded no fewer than 12 studies dedicated to medicine, 4 of which in oncology, published in Scientific Reports, con with the contribution of the Universities of Milan and Rome (Sapienza), as well as IRCSS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, and della Fondazione Filarete di Milano.
As for physics, 3 studies appeared in Science, with particular attention to astrophysics. In this setting, research involved the Universities of Milan (Bicocca) and Rome (Tor Vergata), as well as the National Institute for Astrophysics – Osservatorio Astrofisico di Torino, and the International Institute for Advanced Scientific Studies at Vietri sul Mare. Three geophysics studies were also conducted by the Polytechnic University of Milan, the Institute for Earth Observation, Eurac Research in Bolzano, and by the INFN laboratories in Gran Sasso and Catania.
