    Medicine and neurosciences proved to be the most heavily featured subjects of articles by Italian researchers and laboratories published during this period and monitoring of international scientific publications (Science, Lancet and those under the Nature group) revealed some 38 articles about research carried out in Italian labs.

    Of these, 7, which appeared in the British Journal of Cancer and Leukemia were of a medical nature and three covered neuroscientific research in publications such as Neuropsychopharmacology.
