October again saw a good number of studies by Italian researchers picked up by the major international scientific journals, with 45 articles published involving the contribution of 314 scholars across 80 national research institutes. Publications in the field of oncology were once more well-represented (7 studies by 59 researchers at 13 research centers), and appeared in The Lancet Oncology and specialist journals of the Nature group, such as the British Journal of Cancer.
Also emerging as significant was the number of studies in the area of neuroscience, with 4 publications involving the work of 34 researchers at 7 laboratories and university centers appearing in Nature Neuroscience, Scientific Reports, and Cell Death and Disease.
Readers’ attention is lastly also drawn to an interview with physicist Giorgio Margaritondo, Dean of Continuing Education at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), in which he explains to Aspen Italia’s website team the importance of management training for researchers, illustrating the contribution that research leaders can make to innovating Italian industry.
