In May and June, oncology and neurology were the fields most represented in papers by Italian researchers published in the leading international scientific journals. Of the 75 studies (by 641 researchers across 187 national research centers) that were picked up during this period, 19 were cancer-related (involving the work of 177 researchers at 34 centers), with articles appearing in specialized journals of the Nature group, including Leukemia, the British Journal of Cancer, and Oncogene, while 5 concerned genetics, with publications in Neuropsychopharmacology and Cell Death & Disease (involving the contribution of 39 scholars at 8 centers).

Readers’ attention is also drawn to the interview with Antonio Ereditato, Director of both the Laboratory for High Energy Physics and the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics at the University of Bern. In conversation with the Aspen Italia website team, Ereditato explained the applications of neutrino physics both in the medical field and in efforts to preserve the great Swiss glaciers.
