After a drop in the number of Italian studies published in scientific journals in April, there was a rise in May. Sixty articles were published this month in the fields of oncology, biology, immunology and physics, as well as other branches of medicine and the hard sciences. Treatment for ontological disease in particular was the subject of studies published in British Journal of Cancer (four studies), Oncogene (three studies), Leukemia and The Lancet (two studies each), the Blood Cancer Journal and Gene Cancer Therapy (one studies each). One hundred forty researches in 14 centers took part in these studies.
There were also articles published by journals of biology (Cell Death and Differentiation and Cell Death & Disease published a total of six studies by 51 researchers working in seven centers) and immunology (Genes & Immunity, Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology, Modern Pathology, Mucosal Immunology published a total of five studies).
Also in May, there were several articles in scientific journals on chemistry and physics. Studies by Italian researchers were published in Science, Nature, Scientific Reports, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols (two articles each) and Nature Chemistry, Nature Geoscience, Nature Photonics (one article each) for a total of 75 researchers in 25 Italian centers.
