In the months of July and August, the highest concentrations of work by Italian researchers and laboratories published in international scientific journals centered on the fields of oncology, genetics and biology. Monitoring of the scientific press (including titles such as Science, The Lancet, and various journals of the Nature group) revealed 87 studies conducted by Italian laboratories.
Of these, 8 articles focusing on research into cancer appeared in the pages of Leukemia, Oncogene, and the British Journal of Cancer, 6 relating to genetics in Nature Genetics and Gene Therapy, and 3 on biology in Cell Death & Disease and The Lancet.
In terms of Italian contributions in the field of engineering, readers’ attention is drawn to the Aspen Italia website team’s interview with Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli, in which the professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley and Chairman of the Strategy Committee for the Fondo Strategico Italiano discusses the state of research in Information Technology in Italy and the prospects for Italian startups in this sector.
