Studies by Italian researchers were published in the fields of oncology and genetics in December 2012 and January 2013. Monitoring of international scientific journals Science, Lancet and the journals of the group Nature) found 32 studies by Italian research teams published in January and 17 in December. As usual, there was a prevalence of studies in oncology, with 10 published in Leukemia, Oncogene, Lancet Oncology, and the British Journal of Cancer by 97 researchers in 13 Italian centers.
Again in the field of oncology, an interesting interview was published with Silvia Franceschi, member of Aspen Institute Italia’s Italian Talents Abroad and head of the Infections and Cancer Epidemiology Group at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyons (available here).
Finally, five studies were published in December and January in the European Journal of Human Genetics and Nature Methods, involving 48 researchers in 15 Italian research centers. There were also studies published in cardiology (three studies with 22 researchers in three center) in Hypertension Research and the Asian Journal of Andrology.
