This month, biology and oncology account for the greatest number of international studies done by Italian laboratories. Monitoring of international science journals (Science, Lancet, and the publications in the Nature group) yielded 46 articles, with a particular focus on biology with 7 studies published in Science and Nature e Cell Biology.

For oncology, there are 6 articles in Science, British Journal of Cancer, and Scientific Report. Again for the medical sciences, which taken together include about ten more articles, worthy of note is a study published in Lancet and conducted by an Italian/French team (University of Florence and the Montigny-le-Bretonneux Centre for medical and forensic anthropology research). The article investigates the traces of acromegaly in Lorenzo the Magnificent (May 27 – Acromegaly in Lorenzo the Magnificent, father of the Renaissance).
