In February, biology and medicine recorded the greatest number of publications by Italian laboratories, with 27 articles involving 47 research centres.
Monitoring of the leading international scientific journals (Science, Nature, PNAS-Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, National Science Review and Scientific Reports, placed by SCImago Journal Rank in the top 5 for scientific impact) yielded 5 studies dedicated to biology, published in Science and Scientific Reports, with the contribution of the Universities of Florence, Foggia, Modena, Molise, Cattolica in Brescia, as well as Elettro Sincotrone in Trieste.
In chemistry, 7 studies appeared in Science and Scientific Reports, with particular attention to nanomedicine and nanotechnologies. In this area research involved the University of Parma and Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, as well as Area Science Park in Basovizza and various institutions in Parma, such as CERT, Parco Area delle Science, and the city’s hospital.
