Monitoring of the leading international scientific journals (Science, Nature, PNAS-Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, National Science Review and Scientific Reports, placed by SCImago Journal Rank in the top 5 for scientific impact) yielded 15 studies connected to medicine published in Science e Scientific Reports and Nature, with the contribution of the Universities of Verona, Bari, Brescia, Pavia, Padua, and Ferrara, as well as Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan and Elettra Sincrotrone in Trieste.
In biology, 5 studies appeared in Scientific Reports. In this area, research involved the Universities of Milan, Padua, Florence, Urbino, D’Annunzio di Pescara-Chieti, and Siena, as well as the company Fotosintetica & Microbiologica in Florence.
