In December, medicine and biology attracted the lion’s share of publications by Italian laboratories.
Monitoring of the leading international scientific journals (Science, Nature, PNAS-Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, National Science Review and Scientific Reports, placed by SCImago Journal Rank in the top 5 for scientific impact) yielded 12 studies dedicated to medicine published in PNAS and Scientific Reports, with particular attention to oncology, dealt with by 3 research works developed with the contribution of the Universities of Brescia, Ferrara, and Bari, as well as IRCCS (Scientific Research and Health Care Institute) Istituto Tumori “Giovanni Paolo II” in Bari. On the other hand, two studies were devoted to immunology with the contribution of the University of Milan and Siena’s GSK Vaccines centre.
In biology, mention must be made of three studies published in Scientific Reports and PNAS, by the Universities of Turin, Padua, Bologna, Florence, and Campania, as well as by EMBL in Rome, and by the CNR centres in Naples and Monterotondo.
