The Aspen Institute México was launched in Mexico City in March 2014 as a nonpartisan center for debate and discussion. The Institute develops activities related to education, leadership and public policy, through the promotion of open, pluralistic dialogue on matters of interest to society. Its mission is to foster reflection and discussion on ideas and actions that promote a more open and democratic society, and thus contributing to the social, economic and political development of the country.
The Institute is presided over by Juan Ramón de la Fuente, former Rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and its members include well-known leaders from the Mexican academic and business worlds.
One of the Institute’s main objectives is to foster the development of young leaders, promoting values and the principles of democracy, and to expand their relations with rising leaders from other countries in the region.
The Institute’s activities include seminars, discussion forums on public policy, leadership initiatives and educational and training programs. Ideals, values, leadership and dialogue are the essence of the activities of the Aspen Institute México.
