In the context of the Aspen Energy Forum launched in 2014, periodical encounters are held on energy-related issues explored from different standpoints.

The Forum serves a dual purpose. It offers a setting for businesses and policy-makers to meet and to debate crucial issues, and it provides the Italian and European authorities with a set of specific recommendations in the energy sector. Encounters are built around three pillars:  the single market (integration and shared regulations); energy security (supply and the management of interdependence with outside players); and environmental sustainability (emission reduction pledges and competitiveness goals). An interdisciplinary theme intersecting these three issues is the European governance required to build and to run an effective Energy Union.
