Once again, the sciences of medicine and health have confirmed their importance in the publications of Italian laboratories. Monitoring of international science journals (Science, Lancet, and the publications in the Nature group) has found 53 studies by national laboratories, with a particular emphasis on cardiology (2 articles in Journal of Human Hypertension and Hypertension Research), nutrition (International Journal of Obesity), rheumatology (Nature Reviews Rheumatology), and dentistry (International Journal of Oral Science).

As for nutritional sciences, an article in Nature dedicated to biodiversity (Nature Outlook, April 26 – Agrobiodiversity: The living library) stresses the role played by Slow Food International, headquartered in Bra in the Cuneo area, in safeguarding “local food cultures.”
