Monitoring the world’s scientific journals this month has revealed that Italy’s researchers and laboratories have been particularly busy in the fields of medicine, biology and genetics. Among Science, the Lancet and publications owned by the Nature group, some 42 articles feature work being carried out in Italy’s laboratories and research facilities.

Of these, 10 were all about medical research, and 8 of those, in Leukemia, Scientific Report and the British Journal of Cancer, were all about oncology. Another 7, featuring biology, appeared in publications such as Cell Death and Disease and Nature Cell Biology, whilst genetics were the subject of 6 articles that appeared in Science, Nature Communications and the European Journal of Human Genetics.
