The work of Italian researchers and laboratories that appeared in international scientific journals during February dealt mainly with endeavors in the fields of neurosciences and oncology. Monitoring of the scientific press (including titles such as Science, The Lancet, and the various journals of the Nature group) revealed 53 studies conducted by Italian laboratories were published during this period.
Of these, 6 articles on research into cancer appeared in the pages of Leukemia and the British Journal of Cancer, while 4 neurosciences studies were picked up by publications such as Cell Death & Disease and Neuropsychopharmacology.
Also in the field of neurosciences was an interview posted on the Aspen Institute Italia website with Maria Luisa Gorno Tempini, Full Professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, where she heads the Language and Neurobiology Laboratory and is one of the scientific leaders of the Dyslexia Center. In the course of this conversation, Gorno-Tempini explains the importance of prevention and early diagnosis in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders.
