Investors turned to Italy – Investor sentiment drove the latest sales of Italian public debt. That was the reaction of the foreign press to the results of the November 29 auction of Italian treasury bonds whose interest rate reached the lowest level since 2010 (Financial TimesInvestor sentiment boosts Italian bonds *; Wall Street JournalInvestors Warm to Spanish, Italian Debt *; Washington Post Italy easily raises 6 bln euros from bond sale at lowest interest rates since 2010). And if the Spanish Expansion predicted a happy ending to sovereign debt tensions (November 30 – ¿Un final feliz para los bonos de la eurozona?), the merit goes to the reforms. According to Le Monde, they could very well be a model to export to France, where the government is seeking a solution to the growing unemployment (November 27 – Marché du travail : Paris regarde l’exemple italien).

Made in Italy in the world – Once again, the foreign press turned the spotlight on the expansion of Italian business. Le Figaro and Wall Street Journal reported on fashion, especially Loro Piana, growing fast in China, and Moncler which, after the success of its jacket line, seems destined to become a global phenomenon ” (November 29 – L’italien Loro Piana vend son cachemire aux Chinois *; November 29 – Moncler Moves Beyond Jackets; ). Finally, Brasil Economico reported on the growth of Technogym in Latin America (November 28 – Fabricante italiana de equipamento de ginástica anuncia unidade no Brasil *).

Center-left chooses leader – Finally, the foreign press turned its attention to the center-left primary election. The five-candidate list that lead to a run-off between Pierluigi Bersani and Matteo Renzi was reported in the major papers and news agencies of the United Kingdom (The Economist, November 30 – Italian politics: Left in front ; Reuters, November 24 –  Italy center-left to pick candidate for next prime minister; Financial Times, November 25 – Run-off looms in Italy’s centre-left vote * ), as well as France (Le Monde, 25 novembre- L’italie se passionne pour la primaire à gauche avant les élections générales), Spain (El Mundo, November 25 – Se busca líder de la izquierda italiana) and Portugal (Publico, November 25, –  Esquerda italiana escolhe candidato às eleições de 2013).
