(On March 5 in <em>Reuters<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-morgan-m-a-investindustrial\/italys-investindustrial-buys-majority-stake-in-uks-morgan-motor-company-idUSKCN1QM1OI\">Italy&#8217;s Investindustrial buys majority stake in UK&#8217;s Morgan Motor Company<\/a>; <em>The Guardian<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2019\/mar\/05\/italian-investment-firm-buys-morgan-motor-company\">Italian investment firm to buy Morgan Motor Company<\/a>). Cars were also the subject of a piece by <em>Bloomberg &nbsp;<\/em>about the most powerful and speedy hypercar ever produced in Italy, namely <strong>Pinnfarina\u2019s<\/strong> Battista (March 4 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-03-04\/pininfarina-battista-electric-supercar-first-drive-2-2-million\">First Drive: The $2.2 Million Pininfarina Battista Electric Hypercar<\/a>). Italian banking services provider, <strong>Nexi<\/strong>, also got written up thanks to recent moves that mean it looks set to have one of the three biggest European IPOs in 2019; (On March 1 in <em>Financial Times<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/b97817a6-3c07-11e9-b72b-2c7f526ca5d0\">Payments group Nexi boosts profits ahead of IPO<\/a>*; <em>Reuters<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/nexi-ipo\/italys-nexi-approves-600-700-mln-euro-cash-call-as-part-of-ipo-idUSS8N20201U\">Italy&#8217;s Nexi approves 600-700 mln euro cash call as part of IPO<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture<\/strong> &#8211; Cultural news came from <em>Die Zeit<\/em> with an article that paid tribute to Renaissance art prompted by exhibitions dedicated to <strong>Mantegna<\/strong>, <strong>Bellini<\/strong> and <strong>Tiziano<\/strong> now open in Berlin and Frankfurt (March 1 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zeit.de\/2019\/10\/renaissance-kunst-ausstellungen-giovanni-bellini-andrea-mantegna\">Die Besten in der Malerei<\/a>*). Then <em>The Guardian <\/em>wrote about the \u2018Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival\u2019 exhibition that is part of the Milan <strong>Triennale<\/strong> (March 4 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2019\/mar\/04\/milan-triennale-review-palazzo-dell-arte\">From space boots to life as a goat, Milan Triennale takes on apocalypse<\/a>) and the <em>Wall Street Journal <\/em>&nbsp;wrote about its encounter with the stylist <strong>Brunello Cucinelli<\/strong> who spoke about beauty and the cultural aspects of handcrafted objects (March 5 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/brunello-cucinelli-shares-a-few-of-his-favorite-things-11551794509?mod=searchresults&amp;page=1&amp;pos=7\">Brunello Cucinelli Shares a Few of His Favorite Things<\/a>*). Also <em>Le Monde<\/em> wrote about the latest TV adaptation of <strong>Umberto Eco\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cIn the Name of the Rose\u201d (March 5 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/televisions-radio\/article\/2019\/03\/05\/le-nom-de-la-rose-arrive-sur-le-bouquet-orange_5431644_1655027.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=7\">\u00ab&nbsp;Le Nom de la rose&nbsp;\u00bb arrive sur le bouquet Orange<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism, Food &amp; Wine <\/strong><em>Les Echos<\/em> was at the \u2019\u201cultrachic\u201d <strong>Hotel Cipriani<\/strong>, describing it as \u201cVenice\u2019s last secret\u201d (February 28 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/weekend.lesechos.fr\/voyages\/voyages\/0600802801499-le-cipriani-dernier-secret-de-venise-2248627.php\">Le Cipriani, dernier secret de Venise<\/a>*) whilst the <em>Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung <\/em>was enjoying the traditional carnival atmosphere and events in <strong>Ivrea<\/strong>, in Piedmont (March 3 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/gesellschaft\/orangenschlacht-an-rosenmontag-in-italien-16073019.html\">Italiens Orangeschlacht<\/a>) and <em>Der Standard<\/em> was in <strong>Grado<\/strong>, in Friuli exploring its \u201csea and nature\u201d (March 7 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/derstandard.at\/2000098917776\/Unsere-taegliche-Reise-Zum-Fruehlingserwachen-nach-Grado\">Unsere t\u00e4gliche Reise: Zum Fr\u00fchlingserwachen nach Grado<\/a>). The <em>New York Times<\/em> was tasting wines produced in the <strong>Valtellina<\/strong>, an alpine district of Lombardy (February 28 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/02\/28\/dining\/drinks\/wine-school-valtellina.html\">&#8211; The Hills Have Valtellina<\/a>) and then the focus of another article in the same paper was further east with a piece that featured chef patron, Massimo Bottura\u2019s choice of the 5 best places to eat in the <strong>Dolomites<\/strong> (March 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/03\/06\/travel\/five-places-to-eat-in-the-dolomites.html?login=email&amp;auth=login-email\">Five Places to Eat in the Dolomites<\/a>). It also provided readers with the best recipe for a very Italian soup made of chicken broth with an egg, cheese and herbs (March 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/03\/06\/dining\/make-stracciatella.html?login=email&amp;auth=login-email\">Make Stracciatella!<\/a>). Meanwhile, <em>El Mundo<\/em> set out to explain that in fact a real \u201ccarbonara\u201d does not, as so many Spaniards mistakenly believe, have cream in the recipe!
