Culture<\/strong> led the way in Italy related news in this week\u2019s foreign press. The Financial Times<\/em> wrote about Lorenzo Lotto\u2019s<\/strong> new exhibition, \u201cPortraits\u201d, in London\u2019s National Gallery that offers insight into the aspirations of the Middle Class during the Renaissance (November 9 – Status and anxiety: Lorenzo Lotto\u2019s portraiture at the National Gallery<\/a>*). On El Pa\u00eds<\/em> reviewed Matteo Garrone\u2019s<\/strong> latest film \u201cDogman\u201d(November 9 – Matteo Garrone muestra el David y Goliat de los arrabales romanos<\/a>), whilst Le Monde<\/em> described how Trieste-born writer Paolo Rumiz<\/strong> set out to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather \u2013 who had fought in the Austrian-Hungarian army – along the confines of Spain\u2019s autonomous Galicia region (November 8 – Paolo Rumiz, \u00abfils de la fronti\u00e8re\u00bb<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Italians around the world<\/strong> \u2013 Two Italians who head up international institutions were interviewed featured in separate articles this week. Le Monde<\/em> was with Filippo Grandi<\/strong>, the UNs 11th High Commissioner for Refugees (November 9 – \u00abPour le HCR, l\u2019essentiel est d\u2019aider les pays qui h\u00e9bergent vraiment les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, en Afrique ou en Asie\u00bb<\/a>*) whilst El Pa\u00eds,<\/em> was with Maurizio Bussolo, <\/strong>lead economist in the World Bank\u2019s Chief Economist Office for Europe and Central Asia (November 11 – \u201cSi no cambiamos, podemos llevar a una generaci\u00f3n hacia la pobreza\u201d<\/a>).
Then The Guardian<\/em> wrote about the passing of Enzo Apicella, <\/strong>the designer who revolutionized the look of Italian restaurants in the UK in the 60s (November 14 – Enzo Apicella obituary<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Food & Drink <\/strong>is a sector that often attracts the attention of the foreign press and Austria\u2019s Der Standard<\/em> wrote about expansionist goals of Ferrero<\/strong> that will be opening a Nutella Caf\u00e9 in New York (November 14 – Nutella er\u00f6ffnet Caf\u00e9 in New York<\/a>) having provided readers with a traditional fall recipe for pumpkin and hazelnut ravioli (November 13 – Herbstliche Pasta: K\u00fcrbis-Haselnuss-Ravioli in Minzbutter<\/a>).<\/p>\n
