The Italian group, global leader in the coffee sector &#8211; the world\u2019s press busy explains &#8211; is teaming up with Germany\u2019s JAB with a licensing agreement aimed at making them competitive with Lavazza and &nbsp;Nestl\u00e8 in the ambit of coffee pods (October 8 and 9 in <em>Reuters<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/illycaffe-jab\/update-3-illycaffe-and-jab-team-up-on-nespresso-compatible-coffee-pods-idUSL8N1WO25J\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Illycaffe and JAB team up on Nespresso-compatible coffee pods<\/a>; the <em>Financial Times<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/99e1507c-cae9-11e8-9fe5-24ad351828ab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian coffee company Illy strikes licensing deal with JAB<\/a>*, <em>Les Echos<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/industrie-services\/conso-distribution\/0302372991734-la-guerre-du-cafe-bat-son-plein-en-italie-2212044.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La guerre du caf\u00e9 bat son plein en Italie<\/a>; <em>Handelsblatt<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.handelsblatt.com\/unternehmen\/mittelstand\/familienunternehmer\/expansionsplaene-kaffeeroester-illy-steigt-bei-nespresso-ein\/23157876.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaffeer\u00f6ster Illy steigt bei Nespresso ein<\/a>).<br \/> Other articles of a financial nature were about other made in Italy brands with the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> &nbsp;printing an interview with Remo Ruffini that explained how, as Manager, he is \u201creinventing\u201d the <strong>Moncler<\/strong> label to make it more competitive in today\u2019s fashion sector (October 8 &#8211; &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-ceo-remo-ruffini-is-reinventing-moncler-for-a-faster-fashion-world-1539006956?mod=searchresults&amp;page=1&amp;pos=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How CEO Remo Ruffini Is Reinventing Moncler for a Faster Fashion World<\/a>*).&nbsp; Meanwhile Spain\u2019s <em>El Pa\u00eds<\/em> ran an article about <strong>Bottega Veneta,<\/strong> known for its luxury cosmetics and beauty products, that described an event designed to celebrate the \u201cdelicate work\u201d carried out by its artisans (October 5 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/elpais\/2018\/10\/05\/estilo\/1538740321_972878.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La artesan\u00eda de Bottega Veneta se teje en Madrid<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Culture &amp; tourism <\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 As usual, there were several articles about these sectors this week, with the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Wall Street Journal<\/em> writing about the many new archaeological finds in <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Pompei<\/strong> (October 9 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/pompeii-buried-for-centuries-yields-new-finds-1539116840?mod=searchresults&amp;page=1&amp;pos=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pompeii, Buried for Centuries, Yields New Finds<\/a>*), whilst <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">El Pa\u00eds<\/em> wrote about its time in <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Palermo<\/strong> in the company of the Spanish architect, Andr\u00e9s Jaque, co-commissioner of the city\u2019s Manifesta12&nbsp; biennial (October 7 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/elviajero.elpais.com\/elviajero\/2018\/10\/04\/actualidad\/1538649198_678221.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nueva vida en la vieja Palermo<\/a>).<br \/>The attention of the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">New York Times<\/em> was all on the exhibition that the Jacquemart-Andr\u00e9 Museum in Paris has dedicated to <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Caravaggio\u2019s <\/strong>\u201cRoman period\u201d (October 8 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/10\/08\/arts\/paris-caravaggio-roman-days.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In Paris, a Celebration of Caravaggio\u2019s Roman Days<\/a>*), but for the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times<\/em> it was <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Gio Ponti\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp; so-called \u201cSuperleggera\u201d chair, now recognised as a symbol of functional design that caught it\u2019s eye (October 5 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/885e2b14-c660-11e8-86e6-19f5b7134d1c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Design Classic: Gio Ponti\u2019s 699 Superleggera Chair<\/a>*).
