But the <em>Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung<\/em> featured an interview with <strong>Furla\u2019s<\/strong> CEO, Alberto Camerlengo, commenting that the brand\u2019s quality and design is what appeals to Germans (March 14 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/stil\/mode-design\/furla-eroeffnet-drei-neue-exklusive-geschaefte-in-deutschland-15492408.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All&#8217;italiana<\/a>). Meantime <em>Les Echos<\/em> traced the story of the success Italian designed jewelry has enjoyed and its \u201caura of creativity\u201d (March 8 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/serie-limitee\/horlogerie-et-joaillerie\/joaillerie\/0301339381920-leterna-creativita-2159392.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L&#8217;eterna creativita<\/a>*) and then its <em>S\u00e9rie Limit\u00e9e <\/em><em>supplement called in on Lapo Elkann\u2019s <\/em><strong>Garage Italia,<\/strong> \u201ca place in which Italian passions \u2013 for cars, design and cooking \u2013 come together (March 12 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/serie-limitee\/auto-high-tech\/automobile\/0301339294875-garage-italia-passions-italiennes-2160345.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8211; Garage Italia, passions italiennes<\/a>). At the same time <em>El Mundo<\/em> was all about the exclusive new <strong>Fiat 124 Spider<\/strong> (March 9 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/motor\/salon-ginebra\/novedades\/2018\/03\/09\/5aa285a3468aeb6f658b45bd.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiat 124 Spider S-Design: apuntala su identidad<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Culture<\/strong> \u2013 This week, leading figures in the world of Italian culture featured in several articles in the world\u2019s press, including one in <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Lib\u00e9ration <\/em>all about the <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Tintoretto <\/strong>exhibition being held at the Mus\u00e9e du Luxembourg in Paris, describing the artist as \u201cambitious and gifted\u201d (March 11 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/next.liberation.fr\/arts\/2018\/03\/11\/tintoret-la-sensation-de-venise_1635353\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tintoret, la sensation de Venise<\/a>*), whilst <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">the Guardian<\/em> ran a piece dedicated to the memory of photo-journalist, <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Romano Cagnoni<\/strong> and his \u201cmemorable images of war\u201d (March 8 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2018\/mar\/08\/romano-cagnoni-obituary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romano Cagnoni obituary<\/a>). Meanwhile, the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung<\/em> was in Crema to interview the director, <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Luca Guadagnino<\/strong> (March 12 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/stil\/mode-design\/luca-guadagnino-ueber-call-me-by-your-name-und-politik-im-film-15490035.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201eIch habe in meinem Traumhaus gedreht\u201c<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Tourism<\/strong> &#8211; There were many tourism-related articles this week. The <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Washington Post<\/em> was in <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Apulia <\/strong>to explore the beauty and modern appeal of stone, an increasingly popular material used to build residential properties there and in the US (March 7 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/home\/build-locally-ancient-stone-structures-have-modern-appeal\/2018\/03\/07\/d8896dc2-2220-11e8-946c-9420060cb7bd_story.html?utm_term=.ff57d5f38f30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Build locally? Ancient stone structures have modern appeal<\/a>), whereas the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Wall Street Journal <\/em><em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">paid a visit to the Stradivarius Foundation in <\/em><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Cremona<\/strong>, a heaven for makers and lovers of stringed instruments (March 7 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-violin-museum-is-a-luthiers-paradise-1520449628?mod=searchresults&amp;page=1&amp;pos=14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Violin Museum Is a Luthier\u2019s Paradise<\/a>). The <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">New York Times<\/em> wrote about the <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Teatro Massimo in Palermo<\/strong>, \u201can anti-mafia symbol\u201d that makes opera accessible to all (March 12 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/03\/12\/world\/europe\/palermo-opera-teatro-massimo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Not Just a Pretty Facade, Palermo\u2019s Opera Is an Anti-Mafia Symbol<\/a>*) whilst the \u201cExpat\u201d section of the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times<\/em> talked about Irene Khan\u2019s <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Rome, describing how the human rights lawyer loves living in a \u201cbenevolent city that is not as commercialized as other western capitals\u201d (March 9 &#8211;<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/9e8023d0-1e17-11e8-a748-5da7d696ccab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rome and away: the human-rights lawyer battling global injustice<\/a>*). It was <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Vercelli,<\/strong> \u201cthe city where everything happens in slow-motion\u201d however, that featured in an article in the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Sueddeutsche Zeitung<\/em> and the paper explains how it sees the town as being \u201csynonymous with a better life\u201d (March 13 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sueddeutsche.de\/kultur\/schauplatz-die-stadt-die-immer-schlaeft-1.3903954\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Die Stadt, die immer schl\u00e4ft<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Food and Drink<\/strong> \u2013 The <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Wall Street Journal<\/em> reviewed the best proseccos on sale in the US (March 9 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-italys-favorite-bubbly-beguiled-us-1520607217?mod=searchresults&amp;page=1&amp;pos=13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How Italy\u2019s Favorite Bubbly Beguiled Us<\/a>*) while <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">El Pa\u00eds<\/em> took the opportunity provided by talking to a few Italian chefs to correct the most common mistakes made when cooking pasta and pizza (March 10 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/elpais\/2018\/03\/09\/album\/1520593637_559019.html#foto_gal_10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comer mal la pizza y otras 8 cosas con las que los espa\u00f1oles desatamos la ira de los chefs italianos<\/a>).
