The weekend edition of <em>Les Echos<\/em> published an interview with Lavazza VP, <strong>Giuseppe Lavazza,<\/strong> that talks of his extensive knowledge of France and how the group has just invested 16 million Euros on the transalpine market (June 2 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/week-end\/business-story\/enquetes\/030361028308-le-dimanche-ideal-de-giuseppe-lavazza-2091464.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le dimanche id\u00e9al de Giuseppe Lavazza<\/a>), whilst for another French paper, <em>Le Monde<\/em>, it was all about the Milan based software company, <strong>Milestone, <\/strong>describing it as the \u201cworld leader in two wheeler simulators\u201d (June 1 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/pixels\/article\/2017\/06\/01\/a-milan-la-fabrique-a-jeux-video-de-motos-qui-resiste-a-toutes-les-tempetes_5137140_4408996.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Milan, la fabrique \u00e0 jeux vid\u00e9o de motos qui r\u00e9siste \u00e0 toutes les temp\u00eates<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Bloomberg<\/em> published an article about the five new power plants in Northern Lazio funded by &nbsp;overseas money that prove \u201csolar energy can be profitable even without government subsidies\u201d (June 1 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-06-01\/italy-switches-on-five-new-subsidy-free-solar-power-plants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy Switches on Five New Subsidy-Free Solar Power Plants<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture<\/strong> \u2013 This week\u2019s cultural news was mostly about exhibitions featuring Italian artists. <em>Les Echos<\/em> visited the one hosted by the <strong>Prada Foundation,<\/strong> dedicated to the \u201cgreat Italian artist\u201d, &nbsp;<strong>Francesco Vezzoli<\/strong> (June 2 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/week-end\/culture\/expositions\/030361011205-francesco-vezzoli-lenfant-de-la-tele-2091484.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Francesco Vezzoli, l&#8217;enfant de la t\u00e9l\u00e9<\/a><sup>*)<\/sup>, whilst the <em>Financial Times<\/em> chose to write about the \u201cmagnificent\u201d <strong>Canaletto<\/strong> exhibition at London\u2019s Queen\u2019s Gallery (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/ec080af4-3f07-11e7-82b6-896b95f30f58\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canaletto: visions of a Venice even better than the real thing<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Style<\/strong> \u2013 It is an often-featured sector, warranted two articles this week. <em>Les Echos<\/em> wrote about the <strong>Dolce&amp;Gabbana<\/strong> collection dedicated to \u201cthe millennials\u2019 (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/week-end\/mode-et-beaute\/actualites\/030363907094-dolce-gabbana-fait-la-part-belle-aux-millennials-2092118.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dolce &amp; Gabbana fait la part belle aux millennials<\/a>*), whilst the <em>Washington Post<\/em> offered its opinion on the new <strong>Fiat<\/strong> 500 Abarth &nbsp;(June 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/cars\/fiats-500-abarth-can-a-car-built-for-narrow-streets-sell-in-a-country-led-by-narrow-minds\/2017\/06\/02\/adb9a1f6-454f-11e7-bcde-624ad94170ab_story.html?utm_term=.8686a2291583\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiat\u2019s 500 Abarth: Can a car built for narrow streets sell in a country led by narrow minds?<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism<\/strong> \u2013 As high season approaches, so the number of tourism related articles increase. The <strong>Rome <\/strong>bureau chief for the <em>New York Times<\/em> wrote about the \u201cclassic beauty\u201d of the Italian capital (June 1 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/06\/01\/travel\/rome-italy-classic-beauty-culture.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">My Rome: Still a Classic Beauty<\/a>*), and a few days later, the same paper was in the <strong>Cinque Terre<\/strong> to find out about the Unesco programme for youngsters aimed at saving the terraced slopes of this unique coastal area (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/06\/06\/world\/europe\/to-save-its-cliffside-towns-italy-revives-the-art-of-terracing.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">To Save Its Cliffside Towns, Italy Revives the Art of Terracing<\/a><strong>*<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Financial Times <\/em>was in <strong>Florence<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>taking in the Iris Garden, Europe\u2019s only botanical park dedicated to that particular flower (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/84d9df92-45ec-11e7-8519-9f94ee97d996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to grow irises \u2014 Florence has the answers<\/a>*), wherease other papers wrote about the best places for a summer vacation both in the mountains and by the sea. (<em>The Guardian<\/em>, June 5 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/travel\/2017\/jun\/05\/10-best-new-summer-activities-attractions-holidays-the-alps-france-italy-switzerland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 of the best new summer activity holidays in the Alps<\/a>), covering a range of places from <strong>Piedmont <\/strong>&nbsp;to the <strong>Val d\u2019Aosta<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>whilst for <em>Le Monde<\/em> it was all about <strong>Cefal\u00f9<\/strong> as a destination suitable for singles and one parent families (June 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/m-voyage\/article\/2017\/06\/04\/besoin-de-personne-cinq-escapades-pour-voyageurs-solos_5138579_4497613.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Je voyage en solitaire ! Cinq escapades pour c\u00e9libataires ou familles monoparentales<\/a>).<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Food &amp; Wine <\/strong>\u2013 Recipes and other news on Italian food and wine are always popular subjects in the foreign press and the <em>Guardian<\/em>\u2019s <em>A kitchen in Rome<\/em> feature wrote about 3 vegetable based starters (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/lifeandstyle\/2017\/jun\/06\/antipasti-recipes-grilled-aubergine-marinated-courgette-borlotti-bean-rocket-salad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rachel Roddy\u2019s three summer antipasti recipes<\/a>). <em>Washington Post<\/em> was in the <strong>Veneto <\/strong>to find out about the best ros\u00e9 wine to drink this summer (June 3 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/food\/stocking-up-on-roses-for-summer-start-here\/2017\/06\/02\/73a0ac78-44df-11e7-98cd-af64b4fe2dfc_story.html?utm_term=.0c80a46d5f16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stocking up on ros\u00e9s for summer?
