(February 2 on <em>Le Monde <\/em>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/m-mode-l-invite\/article\/2015\/09\/14\/stl-14-09-mode-new-york-pret-a-porter-printemps-ete-2016_4756226_4497365.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u2019obsession urbaine de Riccardo Tisci<\/a>*; <em>New York Times Style Magazine<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/02\/02\/t-magazine\/fashion\/riccardo-tisci-givenchy-quit-highlights.html?_r=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 Things to Know About Riccardo Tisci\u2019s Reign at Givenchy<\/a>*; <em>Lib\u00e9ration<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/next.liberation.fr\/culture-next\/2017\/02\/02\/riccardo-tisci-tourne-la-page-givenchy_1545884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riccardo Tisci tourne la page Givenchy<\/a>). <em>Reuters<\/em> wrote about <strong>Ferragamo\u2019<\/strong>s ambitious plans (February 3 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-ferragamo-plan-idUSKBN15I17Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy&#8217;s Ferragamo aims to grow revenue at twice market rate<\/a>), but it was <strong>Valentino<\/strong> and the costumes he has designed for Sofia Coppola\u2019s production of la Traviata in Valencia that featured in <em>el Pa\u00eds<\/em> (February 7 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/cultura.elpais.com\/cultura\/2017\/02\/07\/actualidad\/1486477856_486202.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Valentino: \u201cLa Traviata no puede ir vestida con un impermeable de pl\u00e1stico\u201d<\/a>) and a <strong>Bottega<\/strong> <strong>Veneta<\/strong> wallet was included in the selection of \u201cdesirable objects\u201d drawn up by <em>Les Echos<\/em> (February 7 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/serie-limitee\/mode\/accessoires\/0211779045817-objet-du-desir-le-portefeuille-bottega-veneta-2063165.php#Jbwom73FdRWHcsAI.99\">Objet du d\u00e9sir&nbsp; : le portefeuille Bottega Veneta<\/a>*). Meanwhile, <em>Expansi\u00f3n<\/em> focused on <em>fast fashion<\/em> with an interview with <strong>Sandro Veronesi<\/strong>, founder and president of the Calzedonia group (February 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/directivos\/2017\/02\/06\/58985e24e2704e4b488b457b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sandro Veronesi: &#8220;No busco ser a\u00fan m\u00e1s rico&#8221;<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture<\/strong> \u2013Two articles of a cultural nature appeared in Spain\u2019s <em>El Mundo, <\/em>the first described the new virtual trail created by the <strong>Archaeological Museum in Naples<\/strong> designed to particularly appeal to its younger visitors (February 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/cultura\/2017\/02\/06\/589889b722601d4a7e8b4572.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico de N\u00e1poles se transforma en videojuego<\/a>), whilst the second provided a review of the &#8220;Trilogia di Palermo&#8221; by <strong>Sandro Piazzese<\/strong> that has just been published in Spain for the first time (February 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/cultura\/2017\/02\/03\/5894e23e268e3e5d048b45f7.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Entrop\u00eda, luz y el &#8216;noir&#8217; mediterr\u00e1neo<\/a>). Meantime German <em>die Zeit<\/em> wrote about the tourist and cultural delights of <strong>Apricale<\/strong>, a village in the Ligurian hinterland (February 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zeit.de\/entdecken\/reisen\/2017-01\/bergdoerfer-ligurien-riviera-tourismus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u00e4rmpegel auf null<\/a>), and the <em>New<\/em> <em>York Times<\/em> featured an article about the \u201cLa Serenissima\u201d festival at New York\u2019s Carnegie Hall, dedicated to the music and arts of <strong>Baroque Venice<\/strong>. An event, according to this newspaper, that reveals a parallel between the Republic of the Doges and the political situation today (February 3 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/02\/03\/arts\/music\/carnegie-hall-venice.html?_r=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What Baroque Venice Can Teach Us About Modern Politics<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food &amp; Wine<\/strong> \u2013 This aspect of Italy never fails to feature in the world\u2019s press. <em>El Mundo<\/em> had suggestions for exploring the secrets of aperitifs in Venice (February 3 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/papel\/gastro\/2017\/02\/03\/5892126d268e3e1f2f8b4576.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ruta de ca\u00f1as y tapas por Venecia<\/a>), whilst the <em>New York Times Style Magazine<\/em> took a look at the various restaurants &#8211; amongst the most delicious in the world &#8211; owned by <strong>Giacomo Milano<\/strong> (February 2 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/02\/02\/t-magazine\/giacomo-bulleri-restaurant-studio-peregalli.html?_r=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">For the Love of Italy<\/a>*), whereas <em>le Monde<\/em> featured a profile of <strong>Oscar Farinetti<\/strong> \u201cthe most charismatic ambassador for Italian food and wine\u201d (February 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/economie\/article\/2017\/02\/04\/eataly-le-pari-de-l-etranger_5074522_3234.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eataly, le pari de l\u2019\u00e9tranger<\/a>*). Two Italian restaurants attracted the attention of the <em>Financial Times<\/em> (February 3 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/f7c6b1a4-e74d-11e6-967b-c88452263daf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luca and Palatino, London: Little Brit-aly<\/a>*), but it was \u201cthe best Italian restaurant in Frankfurt\u201d, the <strong>Bistro Salvatore<\/strong>, that featured in the <em>Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung <\/em>(February 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/rhein-main\/der-lokaltermin-im-bistro-salvatore-am-main-14827870.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tagliata und Pizza<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Austrian <em>Der Standard<\/em> treated its readers to a recipe for a starter based on Tropea onions (February 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/derstandard.at\/2000050518226\/Antipasto-fuer-jeden-Anlass-Suess-sauer-eingelegte-rote-Zwiebeln\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antipasto f\u00fcr jeden Anlass S\u00fc\u00df-sauer eingelegte rote Zwiebeln<\/a>) and <em>Bloomberg<\/em> chose to write about nocino, the popular liqueur made from unripe green walnuts that has become something of a cult (February 6 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-02-06\/say-yes-to-nocino-why-the-italian-liqueur-is-in-high-demand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Say Yes to Nocino: Why the Italian Liqueur Is in High Demand<\/a>).
