Lavazza is one of them, in the news this week thanks to its increased share of the French market described in a long interview with its VP <strong>Giuseppe Lavazza<\/strong> that appeared in <em>les Echos<\/em> (on September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/business.lesechos.fr\/directions-generales\/strategie\/business-model\/0211287534783-giuseppe-lavazza-la-recherche-du-profit-ne-peut-pas-etre-le-seul-objectif-214065.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Giuseppe Lavazza: \u00ab La recherche du profit ne peut pas \u00eatre le seul objectif \u00bb<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>). <strong>OVS<\/strong> is another, featured in Bloomberg in an article that explained the role being played by the clothing chain in the relaunch of the Swiss group Charles Voegele (September 19 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-09-19\/ovs-partners-agree-to-buy-charles-voegele-for-about-57-million\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OVS, Partners Agree to Buy Charles Voegele for $57 Million<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>This week also brought news of new foreign investments in Italy. One of the companies owned by Warren Buffet \u2013 the US financier with a reputation for outstanding business savvy \u2013 has just taken over <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Dominioni<\/strong>, an Italian company concerned with pasta-making machinery (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Bloomberg<\/em>, September 20 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-09-20\/berkshire-s-marmon-buys-pasta-equipment-maker-dominioni-in-italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buffett\u2019s Marmon Buys Italy\u2019s Dominioni in Pasta-Equipment Wager<\/a>), whilst the major international financial and insurance groups are competing to control Unicredit\u2019s <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Pioneer<\/strong> (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Reuters<\/em>, September 20 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-unicredit-pioneer-m-a-idUSKCN11Q2KS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Three main contenders in bidding for Unicredit&#8217;s Pioneer<\/a>). At the same time Australian investors have shown interest in Risanamento\u2019s <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Milano Santa Giulia<\/strong> property development project (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Reuters<\/em>, September 20 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSI6N1BK012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Risanamento in talks with Australia&#8217;s LendLease for Milan project<\/a>). Other articles in the foreign press were all about luxury real estate opportunities in Italy. <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times <\/em>ran<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\"> <\/em>a piece on an old monastery for sale in Prato (September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/a9236b58-751c-11e6-bf48-b372cdb1043a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">For sale: five unusual home conversions<\/a>*), whereas the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">New York Times<\/em> featured the Eremo, a villa overlooking Capri\u2019s famous Faraglioni, currently on sale for 9 million Euros (September 15 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/09\/16\/realestate\/on-capri-a-cliffside-villa-with-landmark-vistas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">On Capri, a Cliffside Villa With Landmark Vistas<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Remembering Carlo Azeglio Ciampi<\/strong> \u2013 The death, this week, of the former Italian Prime Minister prompted numerous articles, some of which also had an economic slant, in part because of the part he played in Italy\u2019s adoption of the Euro. In other articles, Ciampi was remembered as a leader who played a crucial role in stabilizing Italy\u2019s economy; (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times<\/em>, September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/1e206c2c-7bfc-11e6-b837-eb4b4333ee43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, Italian leader, 1920-2016<\/a>*); or described him as a politician acclaimed as a national hero (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">The Guardian, <\/em>September 19 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2016\/sep\/19\/carlo-azeglio-ciampi-obituary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlo Azeglio Ciampi obituary<\/a>); or as a statesman respected for his integrity (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Le Monde,<\/em> September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/disparitions\/article\/2016\/09\/16\/l-ancien-president-italien-carlo-azeglio-ciampi-est-mort_4998866_3382.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident italien Carlo Azeglio Ciampi est mort<\/a>*) or as a man who helped restore Italian pride (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/internacional.elpais.com\/internacional\/2016\/09\/16\/actualidad\/1474028195_688921.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Muere el expresidente italiano Carlo Azeglio Ciampi<\/a><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">)<\/span>, thanks to a life dedicated to politics and the economy (<em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">El Mundo<\/em>, September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/internacional\/2016\/09\/16\/57dbcbd5e5fdea84718b45a9.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Muere el ex presidente italiano Carlo Azeglio Ciampi<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Culture &amp; Style <\/strong>\u2013 On the culture front, a series of concerts in Paris to celebrate 60 years of <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Ennio Morricone\u2019s <\/strong>music<strong style=\"font-style: normal;\"> <\/strong>prompted an article about the \u201cfurious maestro\u201d in <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Lib\u00e9ration<\/em> (September 19 \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/next.liberation.fr\/musique\/2016\/09\/19\/ennio-morricone-maestro-furioso_1502956\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ennio Morricone, Maestro furioso<\/a><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">)<\/span>, whilst it was Italian artist <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Rosa Barba<\/strong>, and her work featuring San Paolo in Brazil that caught the eye of <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">The Guardian<\/em> (September 20 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2016\/sep\/20\/rosa-barba-sao-paulo-biennial-disseminate-and-hold-film\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosa Barba examines the everyday chaos of S\u00e3o Paulo&#8217;s &#8216;giant earthworm&#8217; highway<\/a>). <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times\u2019 <\/em>Photo Diary ran a piece on the Florence exhibition now on at the <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Palazzo Strozzi<\/strong> featuring the works of the artist Ai Weiwei (September 21 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ft.com\/photo-diary\/2016\/09\/libero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Libero<\/a>), whilst Spain\u2019s <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Actualidad Econ\u00f3mica<\/em> dedicated an article to the legendry <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Vespa,<\/strong> describing it as a symbol of a new Italian Renaissance, represented in movies as a sort of \u201cjoie de vivre\u201d paradigm (September 19 \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/actualidadeconomica\/2016\/09\/19\/57d6e36846163fd41d8b456b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">70 a\u00f1os de la Vespa, las alas del pen\u00faltimo renacer italiano<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Tourism &amp; Fashion <\/strong>\u2013 This week saw several articles of a tourist nature, <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">New York Times<\/em> went to <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Castiglioncello del Trinoro <\/strong>in Tuscany, with a review about hotels that boast resident artists (September 19 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2016\/09\/20\/business\/graffitist-in-residence-its-the-latest-hotel-amenity.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8211; Graffitist in Residence? It\u2019s the Latest Hotel Amenity<\/a>*) whereas <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">die Welt <\/em>paid tribute to the Salento district, stating that the best time of the year to visit this particular part of Apulia is in the Fall (September 22 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welt.de\/reise\/nah\/gallery146694273\/So-schoen-ist-der-Sueden-Apuliens.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">So sch\u00f6n ist der S\u00fcden Apuliens<\/a>). <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Les Echos<\/em> was in <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Milan<\/strong>, not to visit its monuments but to report it as a model city when it comes to managing the recycling of garbage that was of interest in New York too (September 20 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/monde\/europe\/0211305314302-ca-se-passe-en-europe-milan-ville-modele-en-matiere-de-gestion-des-dechets-2028676.php?6HipqZ82tBvTx2it.99\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milan, ville mod\u00e8le en mati\u00e8re de gestion des d\u00e9chets<\/a>). The beginning of <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Fashio<\/strong>n <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Week<\/strong> in the Lombardy capital also prompted an article in <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Washington Post<\/em> and <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">New York<\/em> <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Times <\/em>(September 21 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/europe\/gucci-unleashes-fantasy-puglisi-stages-torment\/2016\/09\/21\/b68c94fa-8033-11e6-9578-558cc125c7ba_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gucci unleashes fantasy, Puglisi stages torment<\/a>; Wine<\/strong> \u2013 also featured in various articles this week with the <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Financial Times <\/em>writing about two outstanding restaurants in <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Cagliari<\/strong> (September 16 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/d67a54ba-7a06-11e6-97ae-647294649b28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cucina.eat and Lo Scoglio offer superlative Sardinian settings<\/a>*) whilst it was Italian Cuisine that starred in a mushroom-based recipe in <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">die Zeit <\/em>(September 17 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zeit.de\/zeit-magazin\/2016\/37\/italienischer-auflauf-pfifferlinge-wochenmarkt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italienische Kochegemonie mit Pfifferlingen<\/a>). <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung<\/em> was in Gragnano, near Naples, writing about <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Arturo Elefante <\/strong>who produces the best pasta in the world (September 18 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/stil\/essen-trinken\/gragnano-bei-neapel-arturo-elefante-produziert-die-wohl-beste-pasta-der-welt-14435030.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arturo Elefante produziert die wohl beste Pasta der Welt<\/a>), another German paper, <em style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Handelsblatt<\/em>, was also in Campania this week, producing an article all about <strong style=\"font-style: normal;\">Kimbo<\/strong>, the traditional Neapolitan brand of coffee now looking to make inroads on the German market (September 15 &#8211;
