Economy <\/strong>\u2013 As the Italian economy is showing signs of growth (Reuters<\/em>, April 20 \u2013 Italie: La croissance en hausse \u00e0 0,3% au T1, selon l’Istat<\/a>), the international press is continuing to cover new investments making the news. Les Echos<\/em> announces that Club Med has allocated 155 million euros to develop hospitality facilities in the country (April 16 – Le Club Med va investir pour d\u00e9velopper sa destination Italie<\/a>*) and, in a report by its correspondent in Italy, covers the opening of \u201cEurope\u2019s largest shopping centre\u201d in Arese, where the former Alfa Romeo plant has been transformed with a 350 million euro investment (April 19 – Le plus grand centre commercial italien dans l’ex-usine Alfa<\/a>*).<\/p>\n

The New York Times<\/em>, in its financial column DealBook,<\/em> speaks of the Middle Eastern group Alabbar Enterprises acquiring a 100 million euro stake in the online fashion group Yoox Net-a-Porter<\/strong> (April 19 – Yoox Net-a-Porter Sells Stake to Middle East Retail Giant<\/a>*)<\/p>\n

Other news regards trade with China: while Bloomberg<\/em> reports on China\u2019s interest in AC Milan (April 15 – Chinese Group Wants to Seal AC Milan Takeover by June<\/a>), Reuters<\/em> explains that the growth of the Asian wine market may help Italy, which is now the sector’s top producer (Reuters<\/em>, April 18 – World wine trade buoyed by rebound in China demand<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Real estate investment is also covered, with Financial Times<\/em> visiting Puglia <\/strong>to report on how \u201cthe region is attracting more international buyers\u201d (April 15 – Italy\u2019s Puglia: why homebuyers are now hot on the heel<\/a>*). Lastly, the London daily interviews Emma Marcegaglia,<\/strong> president of BusinessEurope and one of \u201cItaly\u2019s leading businesswomen\u201d (April 21 – At Work with the FT: Emma Marcegaglia, BusinessEurope president<\/a>*)<\/p>\n

Fashion<\/strong> \u2013 In fashion news, Expansion<\/em> covers the new tailor-made offerings by Giorgio Armani<\/strong> (April 19 – Giorgio Armani se pasa a la sastrer\u00eda a medida<\/a>), while The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reports on the new collection designed for Nike by Givenchy\u2019s creative director Riccardo Tisci<\/strong> (April 18 – Givenchy\u2019s Riccardo Tisci Designs for Nike<\/a>*).<\/p>\n

Tourism <\/strong>\u2013 A number of reports are making the news. The New York Times Magazine<\/em>, on the other hand, takes advantage of the just-ended Salone del Mobile to visit Milan<\/strong>\u2019s restaurants of design (April 18 – Salone del Mobile\u2019s Most Inviting Design Element: Food<\/a>*); meanwhile, The Guardian<\/em> journeys to Veneto<\/strong> in search of the finest prosecco (April 17 – The irresistible charm of prosecco<\/a>) and recommends Umbria<\/strong> Jazz as among the top 10 music festivals in Europe (April 20 – Top 10 jazz festivals in Europe<\/a>). Lib\u00e9ration <\/em>visits Turin <\/strong>to <\/strong>tell the city\u2019s story \u201cin the footsteps of Gianni Agnelli\u201d (April 15 – Turin, l\u2019auto centr\u00e9e<\/a>).
