Tourism<\/strong> \u2013 The foreign press continued to make suggestions for tourism destination in Italy. The New York Times<\/em> went to observe the evocative annual historic soccer tournament in Florence (June 30  – A Most Dangerous Game<\/a>*), while the Washington Post <\/em>rediscovered paradise on the beaches of x Lago Maggiore <\/strong>(June 26  – Paradise found: Lago Maggiore, the \u2018Eden of Italy\u2018<\/a>).  El Mundo<\/em>, on the other hand, described the charm of Verona <\/strong>and its plethora of cultural events, from the Opera Festival at the Arena to the monuments in the city (June 26  – Verona, sue\u00f1o de una noche de verano<\/a>), El Pais <\/em>traveled the Amalfi Coast<\/strong> to visit the Parco dei Principi Hotel designed by Gio Ponti (June 26  – Un ba\u00f1o marino de azules en Italia<\/a>). L’Express<\/em> also wrote about a hotel, the style of the 50 years of the Il Pellicano Hotel at Porto Erole<\/strong>, a luxury structure that has welcomed guests such as Charlie Chaplin, Jackie Kennedy, and Gianni Agnelli (June 30  – En Toscane, l’h\u00f4tel Il Pellicano f\u00eate ses 50 ans<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Italian real estate continued to attract investors and tourists. The New York Tiimes<\/em> visited Umbria<\/strong>, where the real estate market is very active thanks to English buyers (1 luglio – House Hunting in … Italy<\/a>), while El Pais<\/em> wrote about a villa in Livorno<\/strong> whose walls were designed by Leonardo Da Vinci (June 30 – Leonardo da Vinci dise\u00f1\u00f3 los muros de esta villa hace cinco siglos<\/a>). And L’Express <\/em>told its readers about Palazzo Diana Trieste, recently restored with a mixture of tradition and modernity (June 26  – Un palais italien transform\u00e9 en appart familial<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Finally, the Financial Times<\/em> ran an articles about other villas whose Italian charm attract tourists: English country homes built in Italian style after British nobels returned from the Grand Tour (June 26  – A new wave of Grand Tourists<\/a>*).<\/p>\n

Food<\/strong> \u2013 As always, the foreign press was interested in the agrifood sector and culinary Reuters <\/em>and the Financial Times<\/em> reported on the stock exchange listing of Masi Agricola<\/strong>, the company that produces the famous Amarone (June 30  – Wine maker Masi Agricola to debut on Milan’s bourse on June 30<\/a>; June 28  – Masi Agricola to become latest small Italian group to list<\/a>*), while Liberation<\/em> underlines the basic role of the Sikh in the production of Parmigiano Reggiano<\/strong> (June 29  – Le parmesan italien sauv\u00e9 par les Sikhs<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Italian food continues its success abroad. Bloomberg<\/em> told its readers about the opening of  Cafe Murano in Covent Garden, a place for quality food in the lively London neighborhood (June 30  – Cafe Murano Brings Quality Italian to Covent Garden Wasteland\u2014Just Skip the Mains<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Style<\/strong> \u2013 There were also articles about fashion and style. After the Milan fashion shows, Bloomberg<\/em> discovered Bogliani<\/strong>, a brand to know after Fashion Week (June 26  – The One Brand You Need to Know About From Milan Fashion Week<\/a>), and L’Express<\/em> praised Armani, <\/strong>celebrating 40 years <\/strong> of reinventing men\u2019s fashion (June 30  – Giorgio Armani, l’homme universel<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Les Echos<\/em> reported on the plans of swimsuit company Arena <\/strong>to conquer the American market americano (July 2 – Arena veut titiller son rival Speedo aux Etats-Unis<\/a>), while Bloomberg<\/em> published a piece on Yoox <\/strong>and its merger with Net-a-Porter, creating the world\u2019s largest online luxury e-trade operator (July 1 – Net-a-Porter\u2019s Massenet Says Yoox Merger Just Beginning<\/a>).  Finally, there were articles on the new Italian-made cars, with special attention on the new Alfa Romeo<\/strong> Giulia (Liberation<\/em>, June 26  – Alfa Romeo : avec Giulia, c\u2019est du s\u00e9rieux<\/a>; Les Echos<\/em>, June 28  – Pourquoi Fiat r\u00eave de relancer Alfa Romeo<\/a>*) and the Ferrari <\/strong>488 GTB (Wall Street Journal<\/em>, 26  – Meet Ferrari\u2019s Latest Power Play: The 488 GTB<\/a>*).<\/p>\n
