Various papers briefly described the collections with photos (<em>Le Monde<\/em>, February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"#CxhGeHcEEsWtw3zV.99\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Fashion Week de Milan en instantan\u00e9s<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>; <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/milan-fashion-week-highlights-prada-moschino-max-mara-and-zagliani-1425044889?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milan Fashion Week Highlights: Prada, Moschino, Max Mara and Zagliani<\/a><sup>*<\/sup><em>, New York Times<\/em>, February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/02\/27\/fashion\/once-upon-a-time-in-italy-milan-fashion-week-2015.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Once Upon a Time in Italy &#8230;<\/a><sup> *<\/sup><em>The Times<\/em>, March 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/tto\/life\/fashion\/article4371112.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In Milan it\u2019s flower power, scuba suits and the Prada princess<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>), underlining the Italian passion for retro (<em>Le Monde<\/em>, March 3 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/fashion-week\/article\/2015\/03\/03\/le-retro-une-passion-italienne_4586425_1824875.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le r\u00e9tro, une passion italienne<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>), as well as the desire to expand expressive forms along side the more classic styles (<em>Le Monde<\/em>, February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/fashion-week\/article\/2015\/02\/27\/la-mode-italienne-peut-elle-etre-excentrique_4584694_1824875.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La mode italienne peutelle \u00eatre excentrique ?<\/a><sup> *<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>Other articles concentrated on proposals of individual designers, with particular interest in <strong>Dolce&amp;Gabbana<\/strong> and their tribute to Italian moms (<em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, March March 1 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/dolce-gabbana-launches-couture-line-for-men-1425214500?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dolce &amp; Gabbana Launches Couture Line for Men<\/a><sup>*<\/sup><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">; <\/span><em>Washington Post<\/em> \u2013 March 1 ,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/entertainment\/dolceandgabbana-pay-sentimental-tribute-to-mothers-in-milan\/2015\/03\/01\/d09fb23a-c05b-11e4-a188-8e4971d37a8d_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Dolce&amp;Gabbana pay sentimental tribute to mothers in Milan<\/a>), as well as <strong>Armani <\/strong>(<em>Washington Post<\/em>, March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/entertainment\/celebrities\/armani-creates-new-winter-trousers-with-tulip-flair\/2015\/03\/02\/1d461a18-c104-11e4-a188-8e4971d37a8d_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Armani creates new winter trousers with tulip flair<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>And while the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> took a peed at the upcoming men\u2019s fashions (February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/mens-fashion-wants-its-moment-1424906999\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Men\u2019s Fashion Looks for New Momentum<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>), <em>M &#8211; Le magazine du Monde<\/em> dedicated a long profile to <strong>Carla Sozzani<\/strong>, the power behind the throne of Italian fashion February 27 \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/m-actu\/article\/2015\/02\/26\/carla-sozzani-la-venus-de-milan_4582872_4497186.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carla Sozzani, la V\u00e9nus de Milan<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>). Finally, <em>Reuters<\/em> turned its attention to the fashion business, reporting on the positive forecasts for 2015 for <strong>Ferragamo <\/strong>March 1 &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSKBN0LX1NU20150301\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Ferragamo CEO sees higher 2015 sales after &#8216;excellent&#8217; February<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Business \u2013 <\/strong>Foreign reports on the Italian economy covered luxury goods as well as fashion. <strong>Luxottica<\/strong> doubled its dividends in 2014 (<em>Reuter<\/em>s, March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2015\/03\/02\/luxottica-results-idUSI6N0VX00J20150302\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxottica more than doubles dividend payment on 2014 results<\/a>) and <strong>Cassina<\/strong> launched a new line of products to fight the counterfeiting of its most famous models (<em>Les Echos<\/em>, February 28 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/journal20150227\/lec2_industrie_et_services\/0204154468040-cassina-fait-la-chasse-aux-imitations-1097226.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cassina fait la chasse aux imitations<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Along with the discussion on the runways shows in Milan, business was also the center of attention for the maxi acquisition by investors in Qatar, of the new real estate property of <strong>Porta Nuova <\/strong>(February 27 su <em>Cinco Dias<\/em> &#8211; Qatar compra un barrio entero de negocios en Mil\u00e1n; <em>Le Temps<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.letemps.ch\/Page\/Uuid\/7689b440-be98-11e4-b1aa-59105399a835\/Italie_quand_le_Qatar_soffre_les_gratte-ciels_de_Milan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italie: quand le Qatar s&#8217;offre les gratte-ciels de Milan<\/a>; <em>Bloomberg<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-02-27\/qatar-gets-full-control-of-milan-s-porta-nuova-district\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Qatar Gets Full Control of Milan\u2019s Porta Nuova District<\/a>; <em>Le Nouvel Observateur<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/tempsreel.nouvelobs.com\/immobilier\/monde\/20150227.OBS3527\/italie-le-qatar-rachete-quartier-d-affaires-porta-nova-a-milan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Qatar rach\u00e8te quartier d&#8217;affaires Porta Nova \u00e0 Milan<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Italy\u2019s attraction can also be seen in the interest of the Spanish company Abertis, which is planning to buy the towers of Wind for 693 million euro (<em>Expansion<\/em>, March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2015\/03\/02\/empresas\/tmt\/1425281174.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abertis compra 7.377 torres de telefon<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2015\/03\/02\/empresas\/tmt\/1425281174.html\">\u00eda m\u00f3vil en Italia por 693 millones<\/a>) and Avis, with plans to buy the domestic activity of Maggiore (<em>Wall Street Journal, <\/em>March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/avis-budget-to-buy-italys-maggiore-group-for-170-million-1425300289?KEYWORDS=maggiore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Avis Budget to Buy Italy\u2019s Maggiore Group for $170 Million<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Another series of articles reported on the International development of Italian groups, with <strong>Medioalum<\/strong> growing in Spain (<em>El Pais<\/em>, March 3 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/elpais.com\/ccaa\/2015\/03\/03\/paisvasco\/1425399003_330460.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Banco Mediolanum increment\u00f3 su patrimonio un 22% en Euskadi<\/a>) and <strong>Enel <\/strong>developing a wind farm in Brazil (<em>Bloomberg<\/em>, March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-03-02\/enel-building-28-megawatt-wind-farm-in-brazil-serra-azul-complex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enel Building 28-Megawatt Wind Farm in Brazil Serra Azul Complex<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>People<\/strong> \u2013 The foreign press ran pieces on well-known Italians, or people tied to Italy. The <em>Financial Times<\/em> interviewed <strong>Antonello Fava<\/strong>, first lieutenant in the Italian Coastguard who has saved thousands of immigrants (February 27 &#8211; <a href=\"#axzz3TD1UbAQF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Antonello Fava, Italian coastguard<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>), while the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> wrote about the work of <strong>Raffaele De Simone<\/strong>, mechanical engineer and test driver at Maranello, the person who checks that every car turned out by the Cavallino Rampante gives the driver the exact emotions of being behind the wheel of a Ferrari (March 1 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-man-who-test-drives-ferraris-1425314226?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Man Who <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-man-who-test-drives-ferraris-1425314226?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Test-Drives Ferraris<\/a><sup>*<\/sup>). The <em>Washington Post<\/em> published an <em>Associated Press<\/em> interview with <strong>Mia Hamm<\/strong>, who played for the Fifa in 2001 and 2001 and is the new CEO of the Roma soccer team (March 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/dcunited\/ap-interview-mia-hamm-humbled-to-join-romas-board\/2015\/03\/03\/f4b09e36-c1c4-11e4-a188-8e4971d37a8d_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP Interview: Mia Hamm &#8216;humbled&#8217; to join Roma&#8217;s board<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culture, tourism, cooking<\/strong> \u2013 As always, the foreign press made a few recommendations for tourism and cultural events.
