That was how <strong>Intesa Sanpaolo<\/strong> spoke of its plans for growth <em>Financial Times<\/em>, 23 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/video.ft.com\/3903464207001\/Intesa-Sanpaolos-growth-plans\/Editors-Choice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intesa Sanpaolo&#8217;s growth plans<\/a>*;&nbsp;<em>Les Echos<\/em>, November 27 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/bourse.lesechos.fr\/infos-conseils-boursiers\/infos-conseils-valeurs\/infos\/intesa-veut-developper-divers-segments-par-acquisitions-presse-1016023.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intesa veut d\u00e9velopper divers segments par acquisitions-presse<\/a>) while the international papers dedicated articles to the Italian banking group, also discussing the possible targets of the acquisitions campaign, such as the British Coutts, today held by the Royal Bank of Scotland (<em>Financial Times<\/em>, November 23 &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/0\/ce4ad6a0-71a9-11e4-9048-00144feabdc0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intesa sets sights on UK with possible bid for Coutts<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p>The foreign press also showed its interest in industrial plans. While the Algerian Cevital are preparing to take over Lucchini di Piombino ( Les Echos, November 26 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/journal20141126\/lec2_industrie_et_services\/0203966438091-acier-lucchini-va-ceder-un-site-a-cevital-1068180.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acier : Lucchini va c\u00e9der un site \u00e0 Cevital<\/a>),&nbsp; there was also interest last week in the progress of <strong>Fincantieri<\/strong>, recently listed on the stock exchange and now exploring possible agreements with Chinese groups (<em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, November 21 &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/articles\/carnival-fincantieri-explore-possible-chinese-shipbuilding-venture-1416577421?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carnival, Fincantieri Explore Possible Chinese Shipbuilding Venture<\/a>*) and could resume its activitie in France together with the Koreans of STX (<em>Les Echos<\/em>, November 26 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/journal20141126\/lec2_industrie_et_services\/0203965625421-fincantieri-etudie-la-reprise-des-chantiers-de-saint-nazaire-1068156.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fincantieri \u00e9tudie la reprise des chantiers de Saint-Nazaire<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science, culture and art<\/strong> \u2013 As for culture and science, the <em>Washington Post<\/em> reported on the arrival of the Italian <strong>Samantha Cristoforetti<\/strong> on board the international space station (November 21 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/health-science\/space-station-rarity-2-women-on-long-term-crew\/2014\/11\/21\/e0221a8c-719f-11e4-a2c2-478179fd0489_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Space station rarity: 2 women on long-term crew<\/a>), other papers concentrated on art. The <em>Financial Tiems<\/em> ran an article on the works by <strong>Perugino<\/strong> on show in Paris (November 26 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/0\/3f2a1e6e-6122-11e4-b935-00144feabdc0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pietro Perugino, Ma\u00eetre de Raphael, Mus\u00e9e Jacquemart-Andr\u00e9, Paris \u2013 review<\/a>*), and the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> published a story on the restoration of the most important piece of Renaissance sculpture in North America, the Adam by <strong>Tullio Lombardo<\/strong>, the teacher of Michelangelo (November 23 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/articles\/after-the-fall-restored-to-grace-1416613126?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">After the Fall, Restored to Grace<\/a>*). There was also interest in contemporary art, particularly the artist <strong>Maurizio Cattelan<\/strong> (<em>Financial Times<\/em>, November 21 &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/2\/9f484082-6fdc-11e4-90af-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3JyCGtmHn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maurizio Cattelan on art and curating his punchy Turin show<\/a>*).<\/p>\n<p>There was also interest in cinema: <em>El Paid<\/em> wrote about Madrid\u2019s festival of Italian cinema (November 25 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/ccaa.elpais.com\/ccaa\/2014\/11\/25\/madrid\/1416924647_655102.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El eco transalpino<\/a>) and&nbsp;<em>Le Monde<\/em> interviewed actor and director <strong>Asia Argento <\/strong>(November 21 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/culture\/article\/2014\/11\/21\/asia-argento-realisatrice-j-ai-grandi-trop-vite_4526936_3246.html?xtmc=italie&amp;xtcr=15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asia Argento, r\u00e9alisatrice : \u00ab J&#8217;ai grandi trop vite \u00bb<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism from the Lakes to Puglia<\/strong> \u2013 The foreign press again showed interest in Italian tourist destinations, starting with <strong>Lago Maggiore<\/strong>, the Cinderella of Italian lakes, now attracting buyers (<em>Financial Times<\/em>, November 21 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/0\/674f6710-6b2b-11e4-ae52-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3JyCGtmHn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy\u2019s Lake Maggiore, the \u2018Cinderella\u2019 looking to charm buyers<\/a>*). And, as <em>Bloomberg<\/em> pointed out (November 25 &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/news\/2014-11-25\/italian-home-sales-rebounding-after-eight-year-slump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Home Sales Rebounding After Eight-Year Slump<\/a>), the Italian real estate market is reviving, there is also interest in the great villas, the subject of the <em>New York Times<\/em> column, such as the Limonaia Capponi in <strong>Florence<\/strong> (November 25 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/11\/28\/greathomesanddestinations\/in-florence-a-historic-building-once-used-to-grow-lemons-now-a-home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Villa With a Scent of Lemon<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>So, as <em>El Pais<\/em> went to Rome to follow the restoration of the Coliseum (November 23 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/cultura.elpais.com\/cultura\/2014\/11\/23\/actualidad\/1416697451_581258.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El Coliseo recupera el color del Imperio<\/a>), the&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em>, went to &nbsp;<strong>Puglia&nbsp;<\/strong>where, in the Borgo Egnazia resort, the low season picked up with cultural courses of all kinds (November 25 &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/intransit.blogs.nytimes.com\/2014\/11\/25\/in-quiet-puglia-lots-of-classes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In Quiet Puglia, Lots of Classes<\/a>*).
