Brazilian papers are following the appointment with particular attention, reporting on the participation of its own designers in the world\u2019s major design fair (March 29&nbsp; in <em>Valor Economico<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/oglobo.globo.com\/economia\/imoveis\/o-design-brasileiro-na-feira-de-milao-12030151\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">O design brasileiro na Feira de Mil\u00e3o<\/a>; <em>O Globo<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/oglobo.globo.com\/rio\/bairros\/evento-em-milao-apresenta-trabalho-de-designers-do-rio-12009793#ixzz2xY3d83Aa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Evento em Mil\u00e3o apresenta trabalho de designers do Rio<\/a>). According to the <em>Financial Times<\/em>, on the other hand, Italian design is still showing vitality, as seen in the successful exhibit of the work of <strong>Piero Fornasetti<\/strong> at the Milan Triennial and the fact that design is following the money-making path of fashion (March 28&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/2\/df0781ea-a9d7-11e3-adab-00144feab7de.html#axzz2xXqPVqaM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fornasetti and the Italian design houses seeking brand success<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leading figures of the economy<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cThe new FCA will ultimately produce 6 million cars a year.\u201d The stockholders\u2019 meeting of the <strong>Fiat Chrysler <\/strong>group, held in Turin, was widely reported in the foreign press. The center of attention was the group\u2019s prospects for growth explained by Sergio Marchionne (March 31&nbsp; su <em>Washington Post<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/fiat-chrysler-ceo-seeks-45-mln-car-sales-in-2014\/2014\/03\/31\/250d06b4-b8c0-11e3-80de-2ff8801f27af_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiat Chrysler: can boost output to 6M cars a year<\/a>; <em>Bloomberg<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/news\/2014-03-31\/fiat-targets-merger-completion-with-chrysler-by-end-of-this-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiat Chief Eyes Annual Sales of 7 Million After Chrysler Merger<\/a>; <em>O Globo<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/oglobo.globo.com\/economia\/fiat-podera-produzir-mais-de-6-milhoes-de-carros-por-ano-ate-2018-diz-ceo-12041662#ixzz2xeNJBhRP\">Fiat poder\u00e1 produzir mais de 6 milh\u00f5es de carros por ano at\u00e9 2018, diz CEO<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Another economic Italian news was related to the stock Exchange listing of the asset manager <strong>Anima<\/strong> (<em>New York Times<\/em>, March 28&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/dealbook.nytimes.com\/2014\/03\/28\/italys-anima-receives-regulatory-approval-for-i-p-o\/?action=click&amp;module=Search&amp;region=searchResults#1&amp;version=&amp;url=http:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/search\/sitesearch\/?action=click&amp;region=Masthead&amp;pgt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy\u2019s Anima Receives Regulatory Approval for I.P.O.<\/a>) and the 2013 annual report of <strong>Salini Impregilo<\/strong>, with an interview of the group president Pietro Salini on the business environment in Italy (<em>Financial Times, <\/em>March 28&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/video.ft.com\/3395241573001\/Salini-Impreglio-upbeat-on-Italy\/Companies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salini Impreglio \u2013 upbeat on Italy<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fashion and Made in Italy luxury goods<\/strong> \u2013 A London exhibition, \u201cThe Glamour of Italian Fashion: 1945-2014,\u201d is dedicated to Italian luxury design (<em>New York Times<\/em>, March 31&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/04\/01\/style\/international\/Italys-High-Fashion-on-the-Factory-Floor.html?action=click&amp;module=Search&amp;region=searchResults#0&amp;version=&amp;url=http:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/search\/sitesearch\/?action=click&amp;region=Masthe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy\u2019s High Fashion on the Factory Floor<\/a>; <em>The Times<\/em>, April 2&nbsp; &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/tto\/life\/fashion\/article4051769.ece+\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Milan moves to win back its fashion crown,<\/a> <em>Washington Post<\/em>, April 2&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/entertainment\/celebrities\/glamour-of-italian-fashion-on-show-in-london\/2014\/04\/02\/3d3518ba-ba5c-11e3-80de-2ff8801f27af_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glamour of Italian fashion on show in London<\/a>). The appointment gave the foreign press the opportunity to talk about the sector\u2019s economic importance (<em>Bloomberg Businessweek<\/em>, April 2&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/videos\/2014-04-02\/why-fashion-means-business-for-italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Why Fashion Means Business for Italy<\/a>). There was another exhibit in Brazil dedicated to \u201cItalian Glamour,\u201d which brought 116 creations of Italian fashion to Rio de Janeiro (<em>O Globo<\/em>, March 29&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/ela.oglobo.globo.com\/moda\/exposicao-traz-ao-rio-pecas-dos-maiores-nomes-da-moda-italiana-12028362#ixzz2xY3HZZB3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Exposi\u00e7\u00e3o traz ao Rio pe\u00e7as dos maiores nomes da moda italiana<\/a>). Finally, the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> and <em>Le Figaro<\/em> reported on <strong>Prada<\/strong>\u2019s prospects for growth (April 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/news\/articles\/SB10001424052702303847804579476881929691764?KEYWORDS=italy&amp;mg=reno64-wsj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prada Plans to Double Menswear Business<\/a>; &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/mon-figaro\/2014\/04\/02\/10001-20140402ARTFIG00381-les-secrets-de-prada-pour-grandir-plus-vite-qu-hermes-gucci-et-louis-vuitton.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les secrets de Prada pour grandir plus vite qu\u2019Herm\u00e8s, Gucci et Louis Vuitton<\/a>), and <em>El Pais<\/em> had an article on the creation of <strong>Italia Indipendent<\/strong> April 3&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/elpais.com\/elpais\/2014\/03\/31\/icon\/1396266933_649621.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El \u00faltimo pr\u00edncipe de Italia<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism and Italian cuisine<\/strong> \u2013 An alliance of the great names of the coffee sector to find the DNA of the best of the brew. <strong>Illy<\/strong> and <strong>Lavazza <\/strong>&nbsp;will co-finance the genetic sequencing of Arabic coffee to improve the quality of the product served to consumers, and the news was reported by the Brazilian paper <em>Valor Economico<\/em> &nbsp;(March 31&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valor.com.br\/agro\/3500028\/em-nome-de-um-cafe-de-melhor-qualidade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Em nome de um caf\u00e9 de melhor qualidade<\/a>) and the German paper <em>Die Welt<\/em> (March 28&nbsp; &#8211;&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.welt.de\/print\/welt_kompakt\/print_wirtschaft\/article126152099\/Italiener-fuerchten-Kaffeekrise.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italiener f\u00fcrchten Kaffeekrise<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, while the <em>Financial Times<\/em> went to <strong>Ferrara<\/strong> for the palio (March 28&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/2\/a133716a-b0fa-11e3-bbd4-00144feab7de.html#axzz2xXqPVqaM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Palio of Ferrara<\/a>), the <em>New York Times<\/em> went to <strong>Piedmont<\/strong>, which it called one of the few places that offers such a high concentration of wonderful, local red wines and the home of nebbiolo (March 28&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/04\/02\/dining\/traipsing-the-terroir-of-nebbiolo.html?hpw&amp;rref=dining&amp;action=click&amp;module=Search&amp;region=searchResults#2&amp;version=&amp;url=http:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/search\/sitesearch\/?action=click&amp;region=Masthead%252\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Traipsing the Terroir of Nebbiolo<\/a>).
