And the foreign jumped at the chance to comment on the operation which, as the Canadian <em>The Globe and Mail<\/em> put it, brought the Milan stock market back in fashion (December 17&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/try-it-now\/try-it-now-rob-insight\/?contentRedirect=true&amp;articleId=16001784&amp;referrer=http:\/\/www.google.it\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;ved=0CDgQqQIwAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.theglobeandmail.com%2Freport-on-business%2Frob-commentary%2Frob-insight%2Fluxury-brand-moncler-makes-milan-market-fashionable-again%2Farticle16001784%2F&amp;ei=1q-yUrn6HOWVyQPzwYGgBg&amp;usg=AFQjCNGvc8Exmo_EkmPzThykebndQLOw-g&amp;sig2=1ga-HmLddp_vXMoxnW-6oQ&amp;bvm=bv.58187178,d.bGQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxury brand Moncler makes Milan stock market fashionable again<\/a>*). Meanwhile, the<em> Financial Times<\/em> reported on the enormous demand on the part of investors and the desperate scramble for the group\u2019s stock, and the Spanish paper <em>el Economista<\/em> commented on the interest in Moncler by the fashion bigs, starting with Zara\u2019s founder, Amancio Ortega (December 17&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eleconomista.es\/mercados-cotizaciones\/noticias\/5399069\/12\/13\/Amancio-Ortega-se-pone-al-abrigo-de-la-italiana-Moncle.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amancio Ortega invierte en la textil italiana Moncler en su debut burs\u00e1til<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The story of the quotation that started with kudos (<em>Businessweek<\/em>, December 16&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/articles\/2013-12-16\/designer-down-coats-puff-up-the-milan-stock-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Designer Down Coats Puff Up the Milan Stock Market<\/a>) was also picked up by other papers. <em>The Times <\/em>related the operation\u2019s success to the brand\u2019s wide range of products, including jackets costing over 1,000 euro (December 17&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/tto\/business\/industries\/retailing\/article3950538.ece\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moncler shares soar on first day of trading<\/a>), the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> the <em>New York Times<\/em> underscored the attention the luxury sector is attracting right now and the effort to relaunch the Milan Stock Exchange as one of its shining stars (December 16&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/news\/articles\/SB10001424052702304858104579261790248967288?KEYWORDS=italy\">Moncler Soars on Milan Debut<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/dealbook.nytimes.com\/2013\/12\/16\/moncler-surges-41-percent-in-debut-following-i-p-o\/?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moncler Shares Close Up 47% in Market Debut <\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>But the furor over the Milan stocks was not limited to the fashion sector. According to the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, as over 100 companies are considering listings, the <strong>Leone Film Group<\/strong>, spaghetti western director Sergio Leone\u2019s movie production and distribution group, was also recently quoted (December 16&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/news\/articles\/SB10001424052702304477704579254132205853384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Good, the Bad and the IPO<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Made in Italy world wide<\/strong> \u2013 Made in Italy is not only flying in Milan. Equally important results are seen in exports. As the Brazilian <em>Valor Economico<\/em> reported, in October, exports led to an Italian <strong>trade surplus<\/strong> (December 16&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valor.com.br\/internacional\/3372774\/superavit-comercial-da-italia-quase-dobra-em-outubro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Super\u00e1vit comercial da It\u00e1lia quase dobra em outubro<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Behind the numbers are stories about products and brands with a long tradition. That is certainly the case with <strong>Riva<\/strong>, and a <em>Bloomberg<\/em> video tells the tale of Italy\u2019s most famous yacht manufacturer (December 13&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/videos\/2013-12-12\/inside-italys-most-famous-shipmaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inside Italy&#8217;s Most Famous Yachtmaker<\/a>). The foreign press also wrote about other news of some of Italy\u2019s biggest brands. The Spanish <em>Expanion<\/em> published a review on the world of carmakers, enthusing over the <strong>Ferrari<\/strong> <strong>458 Speciale<\/strong> (December 13&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2013\/12\/12\/empresas\/motor\/1386862358.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrari 458 Speciale, con el punto de mira puesto en la competci\u00f3n,Motor- transporte-rese\u00f1as motor<\/a>) and telling the story of <strong>Maserati<\/strong>, still purring away after 100 years (December 13&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2013\/12\/12\/empresas\/motor\/1386844618.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maserati cumple cien a\u00f1os en plena forma<\/a>). The Brazilian <em>O Globo<\/em> wrote about motorcycles, extolling the multiple qualities of the <strong>Ducati<\/strong> <strong>Multistrada<\/strong> (December 18&nbsp; &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/oglobo.globo.com\/economia\/as-multiplas-personalidades-da-ducati-multistrada-11101162\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">As m\u00faltiplas personalidades da Ducati Multistrada<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the <em>New York Times<\/em> also told an Italian story.
