Monitoring of the scientific press (including <em>Science<\/em>, <em>The Lancet<\/em> and the various journals of the <em>Nature<\/em> group) revealed that 84 studies conducted by Italian laboratories were published between the beginning of July and the end of September. As in previous monitoring periods, a high proportion of the works published were in the field of oncology, with 25 studies appearing in the pages of <em>Leukemia<\/em>, <em>Oncogene<\/em>, <em>The Lancet Oncology<\/em>, the <em>British Journal of Cancer<\/em>, <em>Cell Death &amp; Disease<\/em>, and <em>Modern Pathology<\/em>, involving the work of 233 researchers across 29 Italian research centers.<\/p>\n<p>Italian research efforts in the area of genetics also gained international exposure, with 5 studies published over the summer period in journals such as <em>Science<\/em>, the <em>European Journal of Human Genetics<\/em> and <em>Gene Therapy<\/em> (with a total of 86 researchers and 23 research centers involved). Other papers (5 studies undertaken by 41 researchers in 15 centers) concerned work in the field of neuroscience, and were picked up by <em>Scientific Report<\/em>, <em>Neuropsychopharmacology<\/em> and <em>Cell Death &amp; Disease<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Italian contributions to nanotechnology are the subject of an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aspeninstitute.it\/en\/national-interest\/article\/turning-new-idea-going-concern-interview-francesco-stellacci\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview with Francesco Stellacci<\/a> carried on Aspen Italia\u2019s website.
