Fashion Week<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cA great city\u201d that made great effort to revitalize Fashion Week. And the result, partly thanks to the inauguration at Teatro La Scala on September 18, was extremely positive. What the foreign press called \u201cproof\u201d of the demonstration of the power of Milan was clamorous in last week\u2019s shows of women\u2019s fashion in articles on the inauguration with tenor Vittorio Giglio (September 19 on Wall Street Journal<\/em> – There\u2019s a Big City Out There Called Milan<\/a> and the Financial Times<\/em> – The Anna effect is felt in Italy<\/a>*) and the collections (The Times<\/em>, Weptember 18 –Milan Fashion Week in pictures<\/a>*) of Italian brancs such as Gucci <\/strong>(The Guardian, <\/em>September 18- Milan fashion week: Gucci’s latest collection works out well<\/a>) and Fendi <\/strong>(New York Times<\/em>, September 20 – Fendi\u2019s Ethereal Effect<\/a>). At the margins of Fashion Week, Diesel<\/strong> and its \u201cglobal success\u201d was also a topic of interest (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung<\/em>, September 19 –  Das blaue Wunder aus Italien<\/a>).
But luxury is not limited to fashion. According to the reaction of the Financial Times<\/em> to the words of Sergio Marchionne<\/strong>, the glamour of Made in Italy can be found in Fiat models  (September 15 – Fiat chief Sergio Marchionne plays to Italy\u2019s strengths<\/a>*). According to the Turin-based carmaker\u2019s CEO, Fiat will be  targeting its high end models in Italian factories.<\/p>\n

The righting of the Costa Concordia<\/strong> \u201cA success\u201d (Le Monde, <\/em> Le redressement du “Costa-Concordia” s’est achev\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s<\/a>), \u201crelief\u201d (The Times<\/em> – Relief as Costa Concordia is upright once again<\/a>), but also \u201cpride\u201d (El Pais<\/em> – El \u2018Concordia\u2019 enorgullece hoy a Italia<\/a>). These were some of the comments written between September 16-18 on the righting of the Costa Concordia, wrecked on the Island of Giglio and a symbol of an Italy that \u201cworks\u201d (Handelsblatt<\/em> – Ein Italien, das funktioniert<\/a>). The articles, accompanied by photos and videos of the operation, hailed the 19 hours of works and the absence of significant pollution risks (Financial Times<\/em> – Wrecked Costa Concordia hauled upright<\/a>*; Wall Street Journal<\/em> – Crews Right Cruise Ship in Waters Off Italy<\/a>;  The Daily Beast – Costa Concordia Upright<\/a>;El Mundo <\/em>– As\u00ed es la operaci\u00f3n para reflotar el ‘Costa Concordia’<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Culture and gastronomy<\/strong> \u2013 As usual, there were articles about Italy\u2019s culture and culinary arts. Le Monde <\/em>ran a piece on Bernardo Bertolucci<\/strong>, in Paris for a retrospective of his films (September 16 – Bernardo Bertolucci fait de nouveau tanguer Paris<\/a>), and El Pais<\/em> wrote about Paolo Grassino<\/strong>, the sculptor who depicts the \u201cobscure side of life\u201d and is showing his \u201cdisquieting\u201d works in Madrid \u201d (September 14 – Grassino se enfrenta al lado m\u00e1s oscuro<\/a>). Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal<\/em> focused on dishes from the Sicilian tradition with a list of recipes that can bring \u201cvacation\u201d in the kitchen (September 18 – A Sicilian Summer on the Mainland<\/a>). Finally an article in the South China Morning Post<\/em>  ran a piece about Nebbiolo and the wine\u2019s popularity in Hong Kong with the success of the Piedmont producers Gaja <\/strong>(September 20 – Keeping it in the family, Gaja wine feels the love in Asia<\/a>).<\/p>\n
