There was also news about <strong>Exor<\/strong> the Agnelli family\u2019s holding company, which has sold its assets in SGS, the Swiss certification company, as a way of strengthening its position for the creation of the new Italian-American car company. (June 3 and 4 in the <em>Financial Times<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/0\/883b0fe4-cc15-11e2-9cf7-00144feab7de.html#axzz2VKDBcmRL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agnellis sell \u20ac2bn stake in SGS<\/a>*;<em> Wall Street Journal<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887324063304578523000064283018.html?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fiat Parent Sells Asset Ahead of Chrysler Buy <\/a>*; <em>Valor Economico<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valor.com.br\/empresas\/3148104\/familia-agnelli-mantera-controle-da-fiat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fam\u00edlia Agnelli manter\u00e1 controle da Fiat <\/a>*; <em>Expansion <\/em>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/2013\/06\/03\/empresas\/auto-industria\/1370286127.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Los Agnelli venden SGS para asaltar a Chrysler con m\u00e1s fuerza<\/a>).<br \/> <strong>Generali <\/strong>is also operating in the United States, selling its US life insurance business as a part of the plan presented by CEO Mario Greco to boost profit and increase capital (June 3 <em>Financial Times<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/0\/970f2272-cce6-11e2-90e8-00144feab7de.html#axzz2VKDBcmRL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Generali sells US life reinsurance business to Scor for $920m<\/a> and <em>Bloomberg Businessweek<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/news\/2013-06-03\/scor-to-acquire-generali-reinsurance-unit-for-750-million-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scor Buys Generali\u2019s U.S. Life Reinsurance Unit for $750 Million<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fashion and friends<\/strong> \u2013 The foreign press is always &nbsp;interested in Italian fashion. Along with presentations from famous names like <strong>Giorgio Armani<\/strong> (the opening of the new boutique was reported on June in <em>El Mundo<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/yodona\/2013\/06\/06\/moda\/1370520066.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La noche romana se viste de Giorgio Armani<\/a>), &nbsp;there was also new about the financial operation where Silvio Scaglia to takek over the luxury lingerie brand <strong>La Perla<\/strong>. The company\u2019s investment of 110 million euro was reported on June 6 by <em>Bloomberg Businessweek <\/em>&nbsp;(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/ap\/2013-06-04\/italian-entrepreneur-takes-control-of-la-perla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian entrepreneur takes control of La Perla<\/a>) and <em>Le Figaro<\/em> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/societes\/2013\/06\/04\/20005-20130604ARTFIG00562-la-perla-prend-un-nouveau-depart.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Perla prend un nouveau d\u00e9part<\/a>). Fashion was also the subject of the interview lunch that the <em>Financial Times<\/em> had with <strong>Franca Sozzani,<\/strong> the editor of <em>Vogue<\/em> that the London paper defined as the most influential woman in Italian fashion (June 1 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/intl\/cms\/s\/2\/7d48d220-c84a-11e2-8cb7-00144feab7de.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lunch with the FT: Franca Sozzani<\/a>), while the <em>New York Times <\/em>reported on the commitment of brands like Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld in restoration of some of Rome\u2019s fountains (June 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2013\/06\/04\/fashion\/fendi-and-karl-lagerfeld-to-aid-romes-fountains.html?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More Than Coins for Rome&#8217;s Fountains<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism and Italian cuisine<\/strong> \u2013 There were also the customary mentions of tourism and culture. <em>Le Figaro<\/em> visited the pavilions of the <strong>Venice Biennale<\/strong>, called the Olypmic games of talent and art &nbsp;( June 4 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lefigaro.fr\/arts-expositions\/2013\/06\/04\/03015-20130604ARTFIG00231-une-biennale-de-venise-sans-limite-d-age.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Une Biennale de Venise sans limite d&#8217;age<\/a>), while <em>Bangkok Post <\/em>discussed the Thai pavilion all&#8217;esposizione (5 giungo &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bangkokpost.com\/lifestyle\/art\/353508\/dropping-in-on-venice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dropping in ON Venice<\/a>). An article in <em>El Pais<\/em> was also about art and the triennale plans of <strong>Hangar Bicocca<\/strong> (June 3 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/cultura.elpais.com\/cultura\/2013\/06\/03\/actualidad\/1370284946_858409.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todol\u00ed reconstruye en Mil\u00e1n la obra de Juan Mu\u00f1oz para la sala de las turbinas<\/a>). Instead, the <em>New York Times <\/em>took its readers on a tour of Italy\u2019s thousand Baroque churches (June 2 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/travel.nytimes.com\/2013\/06\/02\/travel\/on-a-road-trip-in-sicily-churches-everywhere.html?hpw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">On a Road Trip in Sicily, Churches Everywhere<\/a>).<br \/>Finally, as always, there was interest in Italian <strong>cuisine and wines<\/strong>. The <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> wrote with curiosity about the new passion of Tuscan producers for artisan beers (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887324063304578522973832823746.html?KEYWORDS=italy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What&#8217;s Brewing in Tuscany? <\/a>), and the <em>New York Time<\/em>s dedicated an article about the wine classic Aglianico (June 6 &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2013\/06\/12\/dining\/reviews\/aglianico-emerges-from-the-bottom-of-italys-boot.html?pagewanted=all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aglianico Emerges From the Bottom of Italy\u2019s Boot<\/a>).
