Fashion, food and manufacturing: Italy in the world<\/strong> \u2013 With the spiraling down of bond rates, the attention of the foreign press has turned away from economic policy and business news dealt mainly with Made in Italy brands. The Financial Times<\/em> reported that Versace<\/strong> might be considering the option of the stock exchange ( October 25, Versace still thinking about going public<\/a>), while the New York Times<\/em> wrote about cuisine, announcing the opening of  Giovanni Rana\u2019s<\/strong> new restaurant in the Big Apple (October 25 – Giovanni Rana Brings Its Pasta to Chelsea Market<\/a>). More international expansion for Fiat<\/strong> which, after the Lingotto models sold in China, is now ready to produce the Jeep<\/strong> there (The Pak Banker<\/em>, October 23 – Fiat says China may build all jeep models*).<\/p>\n

Art, music and tourism<\/strong> \u2013 This week, the foreign press also focused on leading Italians in the arts. Le Figaro<\/em> ran a long profile of Renzo Piano<\/strong>, the Genovese architect who, with 30 museums to his credit, \u201cmodels the landscape of art\u201d (October 21 – La le\u00e7on de Piano<\/a>). The Argentinean La Nacion<\/em>, concentrated on a review of the latest recording by mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli<\/strong>  (October 22 – Raras joyas con la luz de Cecilia Bartoli<\/a>).  Another Argentinean paper Clarin<\/em> ran a piece on Caravaggio<\/strong> and the artist\u2019s seven masterpieces on show in Buenos Aires (October 21 – Caravaggio, un artista crucial de la historia, en Buenos Aires y gratis<\/a>). Finally, there was again interest in touristic jewels: the Brazilian Valor Economico<\/em> spent some time visiting Tuscany: (October 24 – Toscana rural se reinventa ao aproveitar turismo<\/a>).<\/p>\n
