There was an increase in the space that scientific journals dedicated to studies by Italian researchers: the 49 studies mentioned in April included several in oncology, gastroenterology and other branches of medicine as well as the hard sciences. The journals that published studies on leukemia and other types of cancer this month included Leukemia<\/em><\/a> and Oncogene<\/em><\/a> (four articles each), the British Journal of Cancer<\/em><\/a>, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology<\/em><\/a> and The Lancet<\/em><\/a> (which published one article each) covered over 100 researchers in 13 Italian centers.<\/p>\n

Branches of internal medicine received more attention from scientific journals. Studies were published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology<\/em><\/a> (three articles), Kidney International<\/em><\/a> (two artcles) and Nature Reviews of Gastroenterology & Hepatology<\/em><\/a> (one study) by 38 researchers in six centers. Monitoring found that the other medical specialties covered included biology (Cell Death and Differentiation<\/em><\/a>, Cellular and Molecolar Immunology<\/em><\/a>, Cell Death & Disease<\/em><\/a>, Nature Cell Biology<\/em><\/a>, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology<\/em><\/a> each published one study) and genetics (Genes & Immunity<\/em><\/a> e Nature Genetics<\/em><\/a>  each studied one study). In all, these studies involved 41 researchers working in 13 labs and centers.<\/p>\n

There were also studies on the hard sciences of chemistry and physics published in Scientific Reports<\/em><\/a> (three articles), Scientific American<\/em><\/a>, Nature<\/em><\/a>, and Science<\/em><\/a> (one study each).<\/p>\n
