This e-book is made up of in-depth interviews with Italian economic operators, and aims at evaluating the impact of bureaucracy on production. The objective here is to offer a systematic analysis of specific administrative hurdles that hinder economic initiative and thus to define models that can assuage such difficulties. The research project is divided into five chapters: the first focuses on general problems in relations between the public administration and business; the second on those obstacles faced by businesses as regards local government; the third on those environmental safeguards that end up costing businesses the most; the fourth on labor standards that must be met; and the fifth on the most costly fiscal procedures.
