International scientific journals. Italian contribution to research

Promoting Italy’s contribution to the production of knowledge worldwide. That is the goal of the Aspen Institute Italia initiative Interesse Nazionale as it starts to monitor the major international scientific journals. The idea is to give a monthly review of the studies by Italian researchers discussed in some of the most important publications, such as Nature, New Scientist, Science and Science et vie.

In addition, the National Interest initiative offers a series of interviews with major Italian figures working in the field of scientific research.

The experiences highlight the point of view of scientists facing professional challenges in innovative and highly competitive arenas.

The questions addressed include:

  • What are the strong points of Italian culture and way of thinking? How do these scientists balance their original education with such radically different professional contexts?
  • In which fields does Italy have an international reputation for excellence? What areas of study show the most promise?
