Italian Business

In line with the institutional objectives of the National Interest Project, Aspen’s “Foreign Press, Italy’s success stories” section analyzes, on a daily basis, positive coverage of Italy in 53 of the most important newspapers in the US, Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, southern and northern Africa, and Central and South America, as well as daily English-language papers published in Russia, China, Japan, India and the Middle East. In point of fact, any favorable opinion regarding a country expressed by the international mass media contributes to enhancing that country’s image, making it easier for its citizens and organizations operating in the country to forge business, financial and intellectual ties.

The monitoring of the international press covers both articles that deal with the country, its unique characteristics and its people, as well as items written by Italians and published in foreign newspapers.

An annotated summary of the findings of this monitoring is published on a regular basis. For the latest edition, see: “Foreign Press, Italy’s success stories”, analysis as of July 23, 2010.
