The crisis has been long, hard and unexpectedly deep and intense.
The “real economy” has resurfaced from its ruins. In Italy, those who have made it followed a time-tested path, making the most of creativity, flexibility and dynamism. Small and medium-sized enterprises have survived thanks to being agile, aggressive and technological – and almost always “green”. These “pocket-sized multinationals” – often champions of a responsible and sustainable development – have been called The Fourth Capitalism. They have proved capable of conquering the world with their innovative and beautiful products.
Such businesses could be the engine behind a new Renassiance. Six experts reflect on this here, imagining what the future might hold.
